Default [RELEASE] OneManga PSP Client v1.0 BETA

Hello.

Well as I mentioned in my intro thread I like Manga and programming.

So one night after nearly destroying my PSP in frustration as I tried to do some late night manga reading using the PSP browser I got a great idea: Why not create a native OneManga client for the PSP that runs like any other game? The next day I set out on learning how to make an application for the PSP.

Spoiler for Disclaimers:
**DISCLAIMER 1: This is basically the first fully featured program I've ever made in C++. So expect so the occasional bug.**

**DISCLAIMER 2: Tested only on firmware 5.00 M33-6, 5.00 GEN-A, 5.00 GEN-B. **

**DISCLAIMER 3: To run this program on your PSP it needs to be modded. But I don't think I'm at liberty to tell you how this can be accomplished. [Although I'm sure a quick search on Google can reveal this information].**

Now that we've passed all that here is a video for you guys:

Watch on youtube here.

Link to download viedo: HERE << Another of my programming creations (youGetter -- Download youtube videos)

The video features the first image of chapter 5 of Bakuman.

The music before the program actually launches is a shortened version of the Naruto opening GO!.

The voices in the video are my 2 bros and me.

Sorry for the crappy video as I had to use my builtin laptop cam because I wasn't able to get psplinkusb (program that lets you use your computer as psp screen) working.

Here is the link to download it: RIGHT HERE.

To Install:
------------
- Download the above zip file.
- Unzip somewhere.
- Transfer the extracted folder and all its contents "OneMangaPSP" to the PSP in the PSP/GAME directory.
- Turn on PSP. Run. Enjoy!

Key Layout when viewing manga:
------------------------------------------
CIRCLE - Return to chapter select.
CROSS - Toggle image scaling.
LEFT TRIGGER - Previous image.
RIGHT TRIGGER - Next image.
LEFT TRIGGER + SQUARE - Previous chapter.
RIGHT TRIGGER + SQUARE - Next chapter.
DOWN - Scroll down.
UP - Scroll up.
LEFT - Scroll left. [Only when scaling off]
RIGHT - Scroll right. [Only when scaling off]

DOWN + SQUARE - Fast scroll down.
UP + SQUARE - Fast scroll up.
LEFT + SQUARE - Fast scroll left. [Only when scaling off]
RIGHT + SQUARE - Fast scroll right. [Only when scaling off]

To quit at any point use the HOME button.

CHANGELOG:
----------------

I say scaled, such that it's easier to read.

Though I don't know much about programming :/

Hmm, well just for novelty (as well as because of a remark last thread), I'm ranking the Captains on their Eloquence:

1. Komamura - well it might be because he's the most recent one to be featured, but it seems he thinks like that all the time, in the middle of battle no less!
Spoiler:
"That is why I swore to myself that I would become a true friend to you. If you bore great sadness, I would take it upon myself. If I obtained great joy, I would share it with you. If you strayed from your path, I would scold you. If you made terrible mistakes, I would forgive you. If the world scorned you, I would be your shelter. Somehow, would give this man who had lost his love for the world... the power to love it once more."

2. Byakuya - although the SS arc was his greatest time in focus so far, he certainly doesn't hesitate to speak as if every time was his time in the lime light. Arrogance never looked so poetic.

"An Arrancar, thinking of himself as an equal to me. That alone, is already a form of pride in itself."

3. Aizen - Ha this must be the only list here where Aizen isn't on number one, but nevertheless he takes the No.3 spot. No wonder, since I'm sure it would be rather blase to run out of pithy one liners and ways to look down on weaker beings when there are so many of them.

"No one stands on the top of the world. Not you, not me, not even gods. But the unbearable vacancy of the throne in the sky is over. From now on...I will be sitting on it."

4. Mayuri - Although he is rather coarse in tongue most of the time, but it's the kind of coarseness that has intelligence behind it. Plus, that speech about the ideal of imperfection was ironically, close to perfect itself.
Spoiler:
"There is no such thing as perfect in this world. That may sound cliché, but it's the truth. The average person admires perfection and seeks to obtain it. But what's the point of achieving perfection? There is none. Nothing. Not a single thing. I spit on perfection! If something is perfect, then there is nothing left. There is no room for imagination. No place left for that person to gain additional knowledge or abilities. Do you know what that means? For scientists such as us, perfection only brings despair. It is our job to create things more wonderful than anything before them, but never to obtain perfection. A scientist must be a person who finds ecstasy while suffering from that antinomy. In short, the moment that foolishness left your mouth and reached my ears, you had already lost. Of course, that's assuming you are a scientist."

5. Shunsui - Rather laid-back kind of elegance, but a genuine elegance nevertheless.

"Sorry, but I've never really been good at hearing when the speaker's a man. Just listening is too boring."

6. Kenpachi - Surprisingly enough he's rather high in my list. When he gets into one of his bloodlust filled fights, his speech really comes into its own - in a mad, bloody sort of way.

"Will cut my life? Great! I just want to see! I always thought of fighting with you until the death of one of the two sides! Come with that thought, Byakuya Kuchiki!"

7. Yamamoto - As the founder of the Shinigami Academy, and Captain Commander he carries himself up to himself, but the figure of this old man in silent brooding is eloquence in itself.

"My quarry never escapes. Come, you rascals. But you won't get off without a thrashing this time..."

8. Ukitake - as some of the other characters, we really haven't seem him speak much, but during the times when he is most serious, it seems he rather does speak his mind well.

Spoiler:
"Rukia, remember this. There are two types of fights. Whenever we are in battle, we must be one of the two. The fight for life or…the fight for pride! Right now…He is fighting for his pride! His wife’s pride…his men's pride…Most importantly…his own personal pride. Dismiss this as his stubbornness…and let him fight alone like this…"

9. Gin - With a mask of an unreadable smile, he usually just watches silently and creepily the events unfolding before his eyes, but his playful teasing is subtly first class.

"Did something happen, Cap'n Aizen?"

10. Hitsugaya - He's usually rather blunt. But when you do work him up to a rage seems he is able to speak cool words, if not cooly.

"You are exactly right, Aizen, my blade is full of hate. I didn't come here to fight you- I came here to violently hack you into pieces!"

11. Soifon - Again, someone like Hitsugaya and more straightforward in words. As a black ops operative I guess it is forgivable as silence is usually their mode of operation.

"Don't think for one moment that we're risking our lives on this fight. This is a fight to survive. Things like protecting the world are no more than moral causes that sound good. We will keep ourselves alive, keep you alive, and fight to protect all others from Aizen's hands."'

12. Unohana - It's rather sad that we don't get to see her in action more, and us such less screen time in speech. But, as they say, less talk, less mistakes and no talk gives rise to no mistakes.

"Our duty is not to spill blood, but rather stop it. There is no reason to chase those who run away. Now, let us heal them, Sado as well as the arrancar."

13. Tousen - For a man whose whole soul is literally bent on vengeance, as expected he takes every chance he gets to rage against the heavens. If only he'd structure his sentences around words other than "justice" more often.

"Komamura. You are more hideous than I imagined."

Ok. For now it's scaled. Although I may make an option to change it.
Anyways I'll probably be release an Alpha version later today or at latest tommorrow.

**Off to eat breakfast.
