Knowing me, definatly, so lets see what I come up with in my few thoughts for a minute.

How about the characters backgrounds and stuff. Or when will the others meet their parents, some inside Maya's place, or are they going to go farther into the city to find them in a chapter or two. Another thing is, imagine how bad the zombie breakout has gotten and what it'll be like in the future. *shudders* Just hope "they", as Rei called them in chapter 5 or so, never get past the barricades or we're going to see some serious fun and teacher running like the bitc. he is....

They were talking about how she seemed to know what was going on back when "them" first started appearing. Really its just in her character, think about how mature she is and her attitude, but she might've known something that we don't about it. You got one of her traits big time there lol

I doubt we'll get the zombie origin though, not this early in the story. More than likely it'll be something revealed down the road which the uber-high school army will have to stop.

I think we'll just get more backstory to the people's relationships with each other.

It seems like this is the classic manga time to start a flashback arc though.

If you've read like say, Claymore or Berserk, they do it too - first story arc ends and BAM... suddenly we go to the flashbacks.

To put what Master probably meant into other words is that they are observative and have figured things out very well in gaining knowledge on whats going on, and a few other things that factor in there, such as how well they are adjusting in the "new world".

Thats exactly what I was thinking, if you think about it, they have used basic survival skills gained for their situation, but haven't really been into situations in which they might have to pull out every bit of energy to survive/relocate, let alone be on the offensive.

XLG is working on it. But their translator took a long vacation and didn't get back til recently. I'm sure he's working on it and it'll be out soon. I'm pretty sure we won't have to wait this long for 13 and 14.

There isn't multiple ways of writing in Japanese.

It's all one type. Hiragana, katakana and kanji are all part of basic Japanese language.

Hiragana is the basic phonetic syllables of the Japanese language.
Kanji is nothing but Chinese characters that is used in the place of some Japanese phrases instead of writing it out in hiragana. Katakana is the exact same phonetic system as hiragana but is used primarily to represent foreign languages.

AS complicated as kanji LOOKS, they're not THAT hard to learn (think of all the Chinese kids who learn to write entirely in Chinese characters!) Besides, in manga, most of the time, the kanji has the hiragana next to it so younger kids who haven't learned that kanji know how to read it.

Learning to properly read manga or write anime does take awhile, since it frequently uses terms and slang that may not be normally taught in at a beginner level (like how Japanese people refer to things by the sounds they imagine they make LOL). Plus there's tons of grammatical quirks you have to understand like different forms you're supposed to use... like the formal form or how a phrase is different depending on who you are in relation to the person you're talking to.

Plus they've pretty much blended those character systems, such as how they use Kanji for names, nouns, and some other things which do not come to memory at the moment. There are also many "forms" of Kanji, since it has had amendments over history, which are usually studied by those who want to be experts on it or some non-changed characters and uses of those characters. You're probably thinking of most elementary taught levels of Kanji, but once you get up to 6th grade, depending on the tests you are taking, it can be quite in depth.
But when reading the RAWS, as people like to call them so I often call them that, there will be times when one of which have a character to use so another is used, such as how Katakana may be mixed into a phrase of Hiragana for things like scientific terms, or so I think it is used that way. Many informal writings have Hiragana, which is something I need to get across because thats another reason that it is in manga to Darth.

On topic:
This flashback will be nice, as long as it doesn't leave the next chapters in flashback times. I don't really see any problem in getting to small islands for everyone, considering there are plenty nearby Japan, except the fact that the disease may still travel over there in some way and ways to travel may become hard to get to...I see more problems in everyone living once out of this shelter, the number of "them" is growing like they are mating like rabbits.

japan has 3000 islands so getting to one i guess isnt hard, but then it comes to how you will live and how you will be able to sustain yourself, and see what resources there are...cause you need to be able to make more weapons and stuff
