To me, I think this manga is like the Japanese version of Resident Evil... most of the characters as uniquely drawn so they don't look the same either. Pretty intense manga.

I'm just a bit biased that the our protaganist will most likely choose Rei over the swordswoman. Speaking of her, she needs a new sword:( I think that the army freak/nerdy guy shouldn't have to date Saya, or w/e her name was, he deserves more on my opinion.

Is it just me or this series a heck load like Gantz, probably the whole thrown into a battle against lifre and death while having a protaganist who was a. dumped in the first volume, b. kind of enjoys the new world, and c.starts getting a harem building up.

Well a lot of my friends and I are huge zombie survival themed fans, we were once thinking of what would happen if one went on at school and it was fun. I really wanna say it's more of a hentai than ecchi but either way, you have hot chicks with guns and swords battling the undead with whatever they can grab and not give a damn for authority. With well done story turns, character moods, and graphic deaths, I truly would like to see an anime based off of this manga.

Omg i started reading this manga today out of curiousity, but it is awsome!! i read all 11 ch in one day. As for what the evil teacher is doing to the students...^_^ - This manga is as good as Full metal alchemist!!...wait...nothing is as good as FMA... still my fav char is Saeka (the swordsman) she is so %@#$ing awesome!!-cant say i didnt have my eyes stuck on the screen of ch 6 for a while. how come no one nos her name?!?!? whats up with her though, she seems to blush whenever she is near Takashi (main char.) i know he will end up with Rei in the end but still. This manga also has awesome art / not many mangas are as well drawn as this.

I feel decieved... I mean, ecchi looks so much like a tool to make anything worth reading, regardless of how farfetched or overly done the plot is. I started to think this way after all those long monologues at Tenjou Tenge. I grew tired of reading the plot, and ended up losing track of it, just looking for fights or naked girls. I felt ashamed shortly after, and started re-reading chapters.

I really think this manga is good... is this really true? or is it that all that ecchi is blinding my objective criticism? As long as Im having fun reading it, its good right? Hm...

This manga is great but... there are too many unneccisary scary seens like random strangers being brutaly eaten every 3 pages, the scene with the two girls holding hands who both get eaten in the beggining...its kind of scary...i like the fight scenes that are relevant towards the storyline though ^-^

I see your point, but they put all those in to show just how extreme the situation is, a good example is how the police had to kill that lady who got bitten by the child in her arms. I'm glad that this manga didn't have a whole bunch of people like Katou, of Gantz, god I hate his pacifist/big talker attitude.

I guess everyone has a sadisctic side, already wanting people to die this early. I honestly havent wished for anyone to die on any series. Nah thats utter bull. There is a lot of filler characters and villians I wanted gone, but I havent seen that much character development on this manga to actually like or hate someone.

Yes, there is gotta be pandemonium scenes here and there, because its the manga's selling point. Like Alberio mentioned, its just a way to make people realize how bad the situation is.

Reading how this influences characters with different personalities is very interesting, like thar part on the gas station where the guy was forced to steal from the register and kill a desperate bystander. Kinda makes me forgive the mangaka for using overly done characters like the disciplined swordswoman and the scared hot nurse.

In situations like the manga, the worst in people appear. The sides that you didn't even know they had. The mangaka uses that to show how that is true. Fear is what drove those people in Highschool of the Dead to do what they did. Fear of death. Fear of becoming 'them'. Its just how it is. And its just sad indeed.

I think the scene between the 2 friends was to show how people were adapting and changing in order to survive. In the 6th chapter we are shown how even though people are changing some are still able to remember what it was like to be human ( When Komura saves Alice). Also I don't think this will be a slaughter fest like the George Romero Dead Series. Only 1 or 2 of the main Characters will die at the most. It will either be Hirano and Saya toghether, Busujima by her self, Hirano by himself, or the Nurse by her self. If none of those happen then they all will live.

I really hope they set out on the road again in this chapter, since I really didn't like the Idea of them staying in one place.

The nurse has no family, Hirano and Busujima have made it clear that there parents will be neither seen nor heard from. Saya parents are Alive, and Rei's dad is no where to be found. So the only one who will possibly suffer ariving at his house to find his parents dead is Kumuro. Also they aren't going insane they are changing. None of them will go insane ( Exept Hirano because he goes insane when ever he fires a gun).

The gun guy is very annoying... I think he'll definitely go insane. Im hoping someone from the main character group will turn into one of the zombies and then the others will have to kill them... that would make it more interesting...

I think they will take her with them cause the people in that house have already lost their minds... shooting their friends and all in front of the others...
Plus shes attached to them and she would whine if they left her.

I like the gun guy. In my opinion, he is probally the most important member. If it's just the other guy, then the girls will all start hating each other. All of them like that main guy, and he seems to like every single one of them. I do, however, think that the teacher from the bus will kill one of them, probally the gun guy.

did you know that the manga artist made the gun guy as a parody of the aouthor of hellsing, its true, they look alike and even have the same name. thats why he my favorite.

the gun guy is awesome,it's just the girl the main character like that pisses me off..and the one with glasses too...the teacher is kind of ok..she's important cuz she can drive.

Yea...They're pretty much not so useful in the fighting. But they do play a huge part in the other things the story wants to say. Like Romance and relationships to other people who can save you.
