I've only watched the anime, never read the manga... Is it just as good? To me, the visuals (images in colour) and sound effects(seiyuu are very important) in the anime were what made the anime soo alluring (and delicious :p), so i never did read the manga, fearing a disappointment.

I loved the scene when they forced Kawachi to pretend to be a statue ... and he couldn't hold "it" in anymore LOL My friends and I still talk about that scene, funniest momment in the manga.

I am glad the anime ended at 69 episodes (why 69 I have no idea). Anyway, in terms of the manga I've read all the chs released thus far but I do have to say that it is annoying to see 25 battles in a row. Of the battles they had thus far, only a very few were interesting and the rest were meh. I've already read somewhere how the manga ends and for the most part that's the reason why I am still reading it, otherwise I would have dropped when they began the Yakitate 25.
