AMVs

AMVs are getting more popular ,it seems like every Anime-con I go to has a AMV contest .I feel as if im not an anime fan if I havent made an AMV .Even as im writing this i have a ton of ideas floating in my mind for AMVs

What are your thoughs on AMVs and what impact are they having on the Anime society ?

Oh, I love AMVs. My youtube favorites is filled with them. I put them in the same category as fanart and fanfiction, it's just a way of expression for fans. It amazes me how talented some people are at it. I've made MVs before (with footage from Asian films) and it's not as easy as one would think.

Anyway, I'm very picky. I don't like it when people take a whole fight and slap a song to it. That's boring. But when they cut, edit and add fancy FX to it, I'm usually much more interested. :D

Too bad youtube has been on a roll these last few weeks. They've taken down several AMVs, and even banned accounts.

I guess the "cultural" about it, its to make it look good so that it matches the music among other combinations of scenes and stuff... but yeah, nothing much "original"

Although, I watched them here and then for entretainment, some of them are pretty well made.

from asian flims that sounds pretty cool,yeah the "standard" it seems has been to put a linkin park song(i like linkin park but there songs are WAY over used) to a naruto fight it gets really old ,fast lol .Some of my friends are in the process of making them and they whine about it being really time consuming and tedious

sadly my computer sucks and i cant even get on to youtube so unless you can send me a downloaded version i cant watch
