Yeah, I kind of like to think ahead so what do you think will happen after the Sasuke arc?
I'm assuming Sasuke kills Itachi so that's how I'll make my guess here.
I think that Sasuke and Itachi have, of course, a heated battle and all others (Naruto especially) are blocked off from the fight somehow.
Sasuke wins and with his "job" completed returns to Konoha and we enter a new Arc. The Naruto promotion arc.
This starts out as Tsunade calling Naruto into her office and saying something along the lines of "You've been doing well in your missions, we'd like to promote you to Chuunin, but we cannot do that right now. We will be sending you on harder missions from now on. In the next half a year to full year we'll watch you closely and if you do well enough, you'll be made Chuunin. Perhaps even Jounin."
Then Naruto starts being sent on Chuunin/Jounin/higher missions and we watch his progress and Sasukes works on becoming Anbu (because of Itachi).
