I was taken aback by this manga. I was very interested in it when I saw it on here so I researched it and I watched the anime.
I don't know if the manga is ANYTHING like the anime but if it is...please leave some sort of warning. Like a tag that says "horror" or something. -I am totally speechless. I've seen about 9 whole animes my whole life. That had to be one of the most horrible experiences that I've ever had in my entire life. I know that sounds dramatic but. that's how it is.


Anyways, very interesting manga! I didn't know it was actually based off of a video game.

Any thoughts? Has anybody seen the anime? :confused: I don't really know how I feel yet. But based on the manga (so far) it's pretty good. Predictable, but good.

what i've heard about school days is.. the last ep nearly got banned from showing in japan. they cut some scenes, altered the blood to black and stuff. but stuff like cutting a pregnant girl's tummy to see if she really is pregnant and decapitating another and keeping their head? *shivers* on the other hand.. it also shows the.. horn-dog human side

The manga will end like anime, albeit differently.

Watch the anime, it's not the best around, not even by it's own standard harem series, but certainly give different air compared to those stereotype harem story, which make us realize that trying to be "different" is not always better.

It's originally a game though, the manga actually being developed in roughly the same time when the anime air, of course, scans always come behind fansub since you don't really need much for subbing a series.

The anime is great...dont know what you guys are talking about =X...I was glad Matoko got that ending and seriously deserved it.
It isnt the anime being adapted to the manga, its the game...not exactly sure which characters storyline it is gonna be following but I was told it isnt the "same" ending as the anime.

I read somewhere, not 100% sure, that the ending for the manga is somewhat like Matoko accepting Sekai and rejecting Kotonoha, leading her to suicide. Because of that, Matoko breaks up with Sekai and never date/has a girlfriend again.

Actually the manga came out before the release of the game/anime....I dont think I have seen/read any anime/manga that is the manga was based/adapted from the anime, meaning the anime came out first.

err yes your right the game came out first, I was thinking of Ef-tale of memories while making that reply, T.T dont know why.

What I meant was(which has already become untrue), I never seen an manga that is adapted base on an anime. When I stated seen, never seen the anime or manga for that piece of work...Most animes are base on manga and are adaptions, but rarely vice versa.

Well.. Here is what happened in the anime. Don't read it is you don't want to know what happens. I'm basically explaining the whole episode. [;
The way you described the manga ending is very similar to the way to the anime ending. Basically same thing, Saionji got angry [I forgot the reason, sorry. I watched the series quite awhile ago] then she stabbed Makoto many times with a knife until he died. She eventually realized what she had done, but it was already too late. Then Katsura comes to his apartment to only find her boyfriend dead. [During this time I think she cuts his head and puts it into her bag] She then finds Saionji and confronted her. Saying to her to look in the bag where Makoto's head was, I think she threw up. After that, she said, "You couldn't have possibly been pregnant with his child." But then she insists that she is. So Katsura is like, "Then lets find out." So she cuts open her stomach and she falls to the ground. "See. Nobody's inside you."

The last scene is Katsura holding Mokoto's head on a boat sighing and saying, "Finally we can be alone."

At first I was .. "Wow." I still am, lol. I have never seen such an..anime [;

Down here is a mega-spoiler for anime...
Well, first of all, Sekai(my favorite character) messed up by not confessing to Makoto and even pair him up with Kotonoha. Then, Makoto choose to change his mind and play around with Sekai, and then with other girls, too. And then He just get back to Kotonoha and freaks Sekai out. So she choose to stab him to death. Finally, Kotonoha choose to take revenge.(poor Kotonoha = =)

See the pattern? Cool eh?
It actually teaches us a lot of lessons, anyway I don't like people end up dying at the end of any kind of story.

Yeah I know this type of stuff happens. I knew a guy in 9th grade who had a crazy *** girlfriend who would walk to the middle of a bridge and contemplate jumping off everytime they got into a fight. In all seriousness. It is one of best Harem anime's ever, because it set out to be different. Because it tried to bring around alot of different themes dealing with love, then the standard Harem genre show. Like simply being happy with what you got, and its alright to have the "flower"but if no one is there to question you, you have to question yourself.

(AKA a refference to that werid Noa play in the anime)

I think when a year or so apsses, people will look back at this as one of the better animes, that came out. No where near the level of NGE of Ghost in the Shell. But a hidden gem.

original..though like Nice boat it lends part of it self from the game. Once agian it less based on the game then the other one was, and even havingseen the anime it will rock your world ( it ends on a different sour note very diiferent from the anime or game. VERY DIFFERENT. (the only sadder ending is the PS2 version, of To My Children's 2nd part of the ending)

In the end I'm still a little scared if I want to see the ending, and of course the manga apperantly doesn't have a nice ending. He does seem like a nice guy in the manga so far; it's just his best friend has put him in an uncomfortable situation and he doesn't know what to do. In the anime he was a complete a-hole and basically forced himself on Sekai and then on someone else (don't give away any possible spoilers).

Well he didn't force himself on Sekia...she wanted it...maybe more so than Mokoto. But yeah, a major doughe bag = Mokoto after ep 8, and even a jerk after ep 5. Before than, he is a nice enough guy. Though NO WHERE near as nice as Manga Mokoto. This guy throught the series is as innoncet as a lamb. And if he had the time, would find a soultion the problem. Life doesn't give the time though.



Spoiler Alert...somewhat:
From what we seen, (I aways like to point this out) Is that Mokoto never starts the realtionship with anyone but Sekai and Knonhauta. The others jsut come by and confess to him. Asking....for the S word...probally Hikari too, though we will never know that. So its more like once sex is mentioned he loses his reasoning power, then justfies the actions he just comittied. Untill EP12 whewre I think he really meant what he said to Konohauta...

Anime. He dosen't go nuts like thatv in the manga. Did you see the flash backs in EP12 by the way, that went all Noa playish. That was Sekai plan, to pretend to be all innconet and get Mokoto to hit on her. While she played the whole " I love you but its forbidden" type madien, so she can free herself from blame, when Mokoto was SUPPOSED to dump Konohatua and did much worse to Setsuna (I'll end it there because its big spoilers to those who haven't seen the anime)

Setsuna and Konouta are the only pure ones in School Days. Sekai and Taisuke are worse then Mokoto is (not by much, mind you), while everyone else are just self centered like Mokoto was untill ep 9 (after that A-Hole is a better term)

Zomg.... I've been watching the anime in fast foward... just reading the text and watching some of the images I suppose. This story became a good love triangle into an all out war for this one dude. Everyone just jumped on top of him... just like that? Wtf... Watching episode 12 I took my sweet time....
It's...a unique ending... It's a very interesting ending... I couldn't stop laughing ..Maybe I was really surprise... because of the resolution if you can call it that..or maybe I was just nervous. It was one of the best endings I've seen in my opinion.

I feel so sorry for Kotonoha...she didn't do anything wrong...she was betrayed so wrongfully....I felt soooooooo bad for her... I loved her the most. She was sweet, caring, and lovable. It's so sad. Also, I think she dies in the end as well(in the anime). Something like Cast Away.

I also hate Itou in the anime. He's a huge pimp, banging literally every girl in the story. Then again, maybe it's just jealousy. Until he died, though.

He's an *** in the anime... I was sooo surprised when that started to happen.. He was all nice and innocent and then "BAM!" he doesn't care as long as he's getting laid? As soon as Kotonoha would do what he wanted to do he lost interest... That's kind a wrong, but happens all the time and I've seen it happen too. I didn't like Sekia in the manga either after she cast out Kotonoha. It was ok for a while because she felt bad about it, but as soon as she wanted Kotonoha out of the picture everything became a little too dramatic. That's where I started to hate her. In the manga.. well so far I don't mind her. The manga is getting good too. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.
By the way does anyone know how many chapters this manga is? Just curious.

Itou doesn't really care about anyone, as long as he gets laid. It really pisses me off. Just to think, at the beginning of the story he was freaking out over just a kiss, and now he has every girl he knows flocking all over him. He also seems to be afraid of commitment (as seen in the anime). I think by the end if the story he deserved to die, but then he makes up with Kotonoha. Then, I got pissed because he was back to the way thing should've been, and he's killed over telling Sekai to have an abortion

THe anime end in such a depressing way no matter how you look at it. And the manga might just do so as well since the end of chapter 10 is showing a sign of a bad ending. The ending might be from one of the tragic ending in the PC game version, which is the worse it can get.

Eh....I didn't think the manga would progress this quickly....I wonder if it's almost over. Hopefully Kotonoha isn't such a psycho by the end. Oh and I noticed that this manga was orignally categorized as horror, but since nothing graphic showed up, OM must have removed that. After this chapter, they added on 'horror' as one of its category's again....

Personally, I don't think staying as friends is a wise choice because there will always be room for doubt that way. I think Makoto should have broke off all relation to Sekai to show Kotonoha his resolve. Too late now though >.>

True, verry true.
Like many of you I've gotten some respect back for Makoto. He's actually a decent guy in the manga which makes me really happy. As for Kotonoha. I don't blame her for being angry and of course feel betrayed. I was a little surprised that she was the one who started the killing unlike the anime which Sekia went completly physcho after the he gave her the idea of the abortion. I don't blame Kotonoha for killing Sekia in the anime. In fact, I was glad when she did it. It was a little bit graphic, but an eye for an eye, right? Killing is not always the best option, but Sekia knew who did it, why she did it, and best of all I think she wanted to do the same thing to him either way. There was an episode that she was looking for him and in her bag you heard nothing but metal hitting each other( kinda like in this chapter). It wasn't until he apologize and took her back that she became semi-normal.
Oh well...
I don't think killing for someone or killing them for odvious reasons are the right choices, although I most admit that the thought of actually doing something like it most be pretty common on these kinds of situations.

Sekai sees the Makoto & Katou sex tape, right? Well when she says she's pregnant, she most likely pulled a bulimic move, faking morning sickness. Then, everyone dating him broke up iwth him. Thinking that Makoto was hers, she forgot one thing: Abortion. Angry that she knew she lost, she decided to kill him, knowing that she couldn't win.

Summer Days was heavily critizised but the School Days fans, even up to the point being call one of the worse game to ever be created. So I don't think they make anymore franchise for Summer Days. This is the end of the entire serie, that is my guess.

I said all that as an example, not as a direct connection. It is much easier for PRON to shrug off a bad sequel and make another attempt. It is much easier of Writers of a successful adaption of that PRON to take a basci conceot (like the latest OVA ep...witch started as a joke from Summer Days) and expand upon it. Because its an anime not a game. They won't have to worry bugs and programming errors,like the game did. So they can focus on the stroy, witch wasn't made fun of or hated...but rather LOVED by fans of the series.

Since Setsuna is the heroin in Summer Days and Makoto wouldn't met Kotonoha and Sekai untill School Days begins, the story might only focus on the two. It says Kokoro chan says Kotonoha stops moving, right? Well it feels kinda weird since we (or just me) still don't know if Kotonoha will still be alive (yet it ends...).
I think someone mentioned this earlier in the previous posts, too. (which makes me notice this...)

This is probably the only serie that ends in a really depressing way, since most series end in a good way. So I don't we'll be finding something this horrifying again. And I hope I don't too.

Saikano is bloody sad, but not horrifying. But yeah, I too want a manga with a good ending (in this case, I already knew briefly how all School Days will end so I'd say its depressing, but not that much. But it is. Well... in an unsurprising way.)
Anyway, now I know why I recognize Chise in Saikano (anime)...
It was on air like ages ago and I happens to watched the first episode by accident (of course that makes me unaware of its ending...)

IDK I thought it would be interesting if they did a couple of short series on the different endings like another VN H-soft manga that's on OM right now (the name escapes me at the moment but it's not that creepy one w/ the long name and all those different arcs).

Then again, they might not. Since there more sub-heroins than main heroins. It might not be worth it to do so since it would just only be about two or three volumes.
