yes, the anime is good, it follows the manga, but tend to left out something from the manga and go ahead of some chapters. But it still good :)

No where. You never request for fills, they will be done when there are more scans available. At the moment it looks like there will be no new scans of Kenichi for a while. Atleast not from Kuro-Hana's scanlators since they are suffering from the notorious disappearance of their team's translators.

Edit: Though it might look like we will get the scanlations next 2 volumes in the near future. Apparently they are now waiting for typesetting. Though that was about 10 days ago...

So far no new scans have been released since chapter 80. Kuro-Hana is pretty slow, bordering inactivity, though their update seemed to give a glimpse of hope about the next two volumes but that was a while ago.

Latest chapter out, and it's a continuation on Apachai's past with Gramps Hayato and Miu. More ownage from Hayato, and the meet-up with Apachai.

You have to hand it to Matsuena Shun. Even though this can be considered a typical shounen fighting manga series, it's bringing out a LOT of laughs.

No, this part of the manga was not animated along with a few other, filler chapters. In later volumes, after ragnarok-arc is over, you will also learn about Shigure's past.

I'm right there with you. I've already seen the anime so I mainly want to get past the ragnarok arc. Although I wouldn't mind reading the manga version of that fight. Even though the anime seems to have stayed true to the manga, I still think it would be nice to read.

I believe it means that they are going to be doing both at the same time. I'm sure they will finish off the Ragnarok Arc.

Scratch my last post. I skipped to the end and didnt see the previous posts. So they are coming out with and English version? Did anyone watch it in Japanese? I seem to prefer the japanese voices on most animes.

I watched it in japanese and I loved it, though there are a couple of filler episodes (Aka, stuff that isn't based on manga chapters) but on the other hand, from the entire ragnarok-arc, there was more than a volume's worth of material left unanimated, including a few chapters where Kenichi and Sakaki go dojo hunting, these chapters are important because they introduce a character who will become important in future events (not yet scanlated).

I think the skip in the manga chapters is simply from another scanlator group that decided to start from where the anime ended because there are almost 300 chapters of Kenichi already and more is coming all the time. This would be a bad decicion if they wouldn't scanlate the remaining chapters from the middle because the majority of manga-community never touch the anime-versions, thus they would have no idea what's going on.

I have been waiting for this for sooo long, I have the manga up to issue 26 or 27, but I don't know enough Japanese to get the entire story (I could probably just translate it on my own if I wanted to, but that's alot of energy and I'm pretty lazy) so this is great!! Is there any word on anyone translating the original series Shijou Saikyo no Deshi? I saw it at BOOK-OFF a while back and got really confused. It's like few to no one has even heard of it!! I can't even find a raw version!!!

I know Kenichi & the Elder leave, so Kenichi could help his friends right Ragnorak. However, in the anime we never find out if his training was ever finished

What I meant was that Kenichi reached a certain level. However, the elder said that there were more levels beyond that, that he could learn. He told Kenichi that if he wanted to stop so he could save his friends that his level should have been high enough for that.

So, what I was asking was if Kenichi ever learns the other levels.

He still have time to progress anyway.. no point into making him a super super strong guy too fast... eventough he's strong already.
He's just so far from the level of his masters lol ^^

No that girl isn't the one from the gardening club. The GC-girl has braids and glasses. This girl is someone who appears randomly, is often seen wearing the outfit of a miko-priestess, I'm not sure if her name is ever given. And the object she's carrying is a broom, not a weapon c(=

The anime follows the manga as far as i know, but i read around here that first was the anime. Anyway the serie its really funny, i dont know why i like all the characters, specially apachai, shigure and Kensei.

The story its really interesting, see how kenichi lasts that hard training only for been behind Miu-chan or how Nijima use kenichi to make his alliance recluting all the people that kenichi beats. Anyway before reading the manga, i suggest see the anime first.

No, the manga came first, not the anime. I don't know who gave you that misconseption. And yeas, the anime follows the manga rather closely, it only has 2 filler episodes in it that aren't based on the manga. But even though it was based on volumes 1-16, there was actually over a volumes worth of material left unanimated, events that happened shortly before the final fight of the ragnarok-arc.

or just wait till the manga releases come out
then start from chapter 144 and go on

It is a grave injustice that this thread's been let to die. HSDK is an absolutely awesome manga and now that there's again a steady update of chapters, there is material for discussion.

But what I want to discuss isn't related to the new chapters, awesome as they may be. I have but one simple question that anyone who's read a few chapters can answer. Which of the Ryozanpaku masters is your favourite?

As for myself, I can't really answer that question, because I find all of them to be equally awesome, but maybe other people have preferences.
