Yes the element 4 was S-Class. When the guild was attacked earlier by Gazille and Natsu was crying to go and kick their ***, Erza did say the war would be even, Jose is equivalent to Makarov and their S-Class NAMED ELEMENT 4 is equivalent to our S-Class.

i think those guys should be s-class. when you think about it the only reason they were beaten was luck of the draw. Of course typically shounen.
No one but gray could have beaten water, no one but natsu fire, and so on...
They were probably a lot tougher then what was shown in this fight. Except the earth guy. he wasn't s class. maybe a.
Besides, there seems to be a lot of wiggle room in the class system. Jose should have been equal to makarov according to classes. And well... he really wasn't.

Comparing in that situation, elemental 4 just sucked plainly. I dont know why they were so feared. Aria did manage to trouble Natsu but Erza did pwn her in a single strike. Same with the others. Even Jose was no match against Makarov.....overall Phantom guild was weak, except Gazille. Moreover, FT's S-class wasnt even there, except Erza and that former S-class girl (forgot the name).

she got a little brother elfman and little sister(I don't know the name )
When elfman tries the full body transformation he can't control it then bam
he killed his younger sister after that incident he never tries full body
transformation and about his older sister I think thats also the reason
But in the battle against earth mage of FL when marijane was being squash
by the huge magic mech driven by anger elfman use full body transformation
and he controls it rescue marijane then kick butt the earth mage.

The beginning of One Piece was also consisting of rather independant arcs that only had the purpose of introducing characters. This should be like the Arlong-arc, where we learn more about the female lead's character, who has been there from the very beginning but wasn't really featured much.

Maybe we even get to see something of Loki soon. He has been around for a while but we haven't really seen him yet.

Loki doesnt hate stellar mages. He tried to flirt with Lucy but after finding out that she's a Stellar Spirit mage, he quickly stopped his advances. Mirajane said that something must have happened to him with a similar female Stellar Spirit mage. She also mentioned that Loki once tried to flirt with Erza, but nearly got himself killed because of it.
He even got disappointed due to his fear of the stellar mages when during the Phantom arc he couldnt save Lucy.

Though i am still bummed about natsu's increase in power during the gazille fight. One moment he has wings, next minute he doesn't and nobody mentions them again. Next minute he can break an entire guild with a few punches. Made no sense to me, i was really waiting for him to be more 'dragony'. Like gazilles scales, you know?

Thats mirajane the past S-Class she stops using full body transformation and same for elfman the younger brother stops attempting to master it. But the occur in the guild war. The
enemy makes him using it again. But this time elfman was succesfull on transforming.

Well, this conclusion to the Phantom arc with Lucy was quite fast, I thought it would have been longer, but even if I don't dislike Lucy, it's good like this, now it's time for a new arc to begin

I think the Phantom arc was just a minor one, to introduce and develop various characters. In my opinion, the main plot will revolve around the conspiracies going around between the council and FT.
I am still waiting to see what is important in this Lucy retrieval arc that relates them to the main storyline, whatever it is....

I dont think it has been clarified yet in the manga. A little was talked about in some discussion that involved Lucy, but I dont remember exactly.

Natsu learned his "Fire Dragon Slayer" from the dragon Igneel, Gazille learned his "Metal Dragon Slayer" from the dragon Metalicana who, like Igneel, disappeared seven years ago in the year of 777, july 7, in another words, the dragons disappeared 7/7/777 seven years ago. Plus Lucy's mother died as well in the year 777. So that makes the number 7 important and for sure, thats not a coincidence, Natsu said that himself.
Personally, I think maybe there were 7 dragons as well and that should mean there are 5 more dragon slayers other than Natsu and Gazille.

No nothing has been disclosed yet. Its been just said that she died earlier and in the last chapter her tombstone had her death year engraved as 777.
Now I think, she maybe alive somewhere. And Lucy's father has definitely got to do something with it. I can sense the main plot getting centered around Lucy, sooner or later.

Well, what I think of this is, Makarov won't do much against him. His main beef should involve Erza (some old love thing?) and Natsu (he even wants him for some reason). Makarov is strong and I'm not saying he can beat that council guy or not, but he can't just get in every battle. That way other characters won't have anything left with them. With the advancement of plot, people like Makarov are going to be sidelined more and more, while Natsu, Lucy and Erza are going to be in action more and more.

Makarov could be thinking about letting the "Geezer" be the successor as he only talked about the 4 S-class mages before Mira interrupted him about the news. He could be trying to say that the "Geezer" would be the best candidate (the last S-class mage).
