I really hope to see someone in yomi faction as powerful like Shigure in one on one, we already see that Edward Scissorhands guy but I need to see someone more powerfull. Shigure is one of my HSDK favorite characters.

Seems like she's really been slighted as far as having an important role among the masters. She hasn't taught Kenichi much in the realm of fighting, and there's no weapon masters in the One Shadow Nine Fists.

I'd love to see an occasion rise where Kenichi has to become fluent in using a Katana.

in the shigure and ken dealing with fear arc he says my fist are my weapons and he wont learn it for him it's like saying i want to learn how to hurt people rather than i want to learn how to protect that which is important.

There are two groups in yami - the weaponless group the guys that are concerned kenichi.
the weapon group, i figure there is no opposing group for them given that weapons are more for killing but either way shigure is in ryo and not there cause of her ties to akisame i guess.

As for teaching all she really needs to do is teach ken how to fight back against weapons without one. that or teach him a non-bladed weapon.

I wonder if there is an equivalent to the One Shadow Nine Fists in the weapons faction, except on a smaller scale so Shigure can actually take care of it by herself without having a TON of fights. She is one of my favorite masters, hope to see atleast a couple more fights from her throughout the course of the series.

Edit: Oh yeah, does anyone remember if her age was stated at all when her backstory was revealed?

it says decades but it could only be two maybe less, akisame has to at least 20 something at the time any more and hes really old lol.
shigure id say about 5 -6 maybe.

thats what we figure, she cant be older and she cant be younger. if akisame is 38 then it has to be under 2 decades that he first met shigure add to that she had to about 4- 6 then so youngest is 19 i guess.

Does anyone think that Shigure may teach Freya a few things since they are both weapon based and Shigure isnt really teaching Kenichi anything.

It's a possibility, guess it mostly depends if the author ever decides to have the Ryo masters help the Shinpaku members train.

There are quite a few matches in style with Ryo and Shinpaku. Such as like Earlier Freya and Shigure though Freya is more based on one weapon and Ukita and Koetsugi. Not sure if there are more that I can think of but it would be fun to see.

Well there was Kensei and Natsu, but it turned out Sougetsu was alive so we never got to see Kensei give Natsu some training.

And I could see Shigure training Freya, even if it was just in improved use of the staff.

since we seeing the weapons division make it's move, shigure should get more competition. but i think she probably gets a lot of competition off scene when she goes sword hunting. i rather like how she seems to be half asleep when talking. her manner is different and she seems rather innocent somehow. i guess because she lived in the mountains and than was adopted by a weapons master, she spent her life in martial arts and did not get much experience with normal life.

Shigure is what we all like to call the shy but deadly. i would assume lata on she will be training freya cause well yea. but i do believe her best moment was when she wanted to bring the tank home. also does anyone know where i could get a rly good pic of her i wanna get a tatoo of her on my shoulder. also if u all remember she might be changlled by that little girls master/ i forgot her name but she did ask shigure for her name. and i also think she is about 20 years old

Well i think that i read that there's a few in here that likes the idea of kenichi and shigure together instead of miu. Must say that i'm very fond that idea :D been thinking bout it for a long time now :P btw. dont get what shigure feels bout kenichi i kinda thinks she has strong feelings for him, dont know why just do... anyone thinks the same?? please check this before posting a reply this might help you understand what i'm trying to say:P

Of course her feelings will likely never get truly explored. Shigure is about 22 btw.

I cant really explain it right now, but I feel that she might pass on that blade to Kenichi later on in the series. It just eems to be waste for her to be there, she's such a great asset (she's the prodigy of all swords & weaponry, plus she has a collections of weapo s he can choose from, one of them being Setsunamaru).

On a sidenote, i also like the idea of her and kenich getting together.

Then you have the evidence that everyone mentioned above. Shigure has feelings for Kenichi, she is only waiting until he is stronger to take him deeper into the world of weapons.

Thats a really great theory but I fear he might punk out because it still has a sharp end. Who knows though, he might later on.:D
