lol..When you said he lost to Sanada...I was like really I didnt think that was in the manga xD...I seen the anime first as well so it had a stronger impression on me...Losing to Tezuka doesnt exactly count. It wasnt even an rankings match...Become the Pillar of Support for Seigaku..Blehz make it more unrealistic some more eh? Coming back from 0-5 to win 7-5...
It's possible if he plays with out his memory first ^^; (not likely....) But you never know... maybe Yukimura is really good (I mean, he has to be) and Ryoma couldn't beat him untill he reach the penacle... Konomi always does these kind of things (making a character loose really badly and come back to win in the last match point
-_______-;;......
yeah i like that idea
but i still want him to own momo be4 the match and both cant happen =(

Well anything is possible with Konomi lol..beating Atobe was a ridiculous feat..I think that was the start of me disliking the manga...Well Yukimura wont be bad. But how good is he..Its all hyped up at the moment. I dont think we have seen a single match that he participated in yet(might be wrong..been so absent-minded reading this..just wanted to finish this manga). But the fact that he WILL win is just bothersome. So annoying and predictable since the beginning of the manga. He drags the matches till the end..I mean I get excited too reading/watching some of the matches but it just happens toooooo often..even more for echizen.

I think yukimura have the true principle of perfection. then Echizen use the fake one againist him. match end with 7-5 yukimura victory

^ Only 1% chance of that happening though. We all know Ryoma special training might have some relation to hax power he's about to release in S1 later.

Neways, not sure how far Yukimara is skill wise..For all we know..he can be all bluff no game lol(even less than 1% chance on that though..). But echizen losing the match...blehz hopeful but doubtful =/.

Idk, but I seem to be having a problem with seeing page 15 of 367...
Anybody know if there is a problem with that page?
I'll try contacting onemanga to see if they can fix it
Edit: Cancel that, it seems the servers are down (again...)
I can't get to any part of the website, only the forums.
I guess I'll have to wait 'til tomorrow to finish ot :-(

Ryoma looks like he's going to get his memory back before the match... (expected but a little disapointed that he won't be playing S1 with amnesia, it would've been interesting to see)...

Damn, Prince of Tennis is so stereotyped. Everyone thinks that Echizen is gonna win because he is the main-character-who-is-just-about-to-unlock-the-pinnacle-of-perfection yada yada yada. Well, i beg to differ- I think that Echizen WILL lose, and hopes that he DOES lose. I mean, Konomi mentioned himself in an interview saying that Yukimura was the strongest character he'd ever developed, right? Besides, he can even counter Sanada's FuuRinKaInZanRai. I mean, how defeatable is that?
wildstriker
11-28-2007, 02:20 PM
All those who are undefeatable before have been defeated by Ryoma even though it's already on the blink of impossible-ness (i.e; Sanada, Atobe).
Yukimura will also, somehow, but surely, job to Ryoma due to the plot device by the author himself.

11-28-2007, 02:36 PM
Yukimura.. come to think of it, we have not seen him lift a racket- let alone play, yet. Okay well I assume Ryoma doesn't know either and would probably be met with a Yukimura who already unlocked the Muga?
wildstriker
11-28-2007, 03:01 PM
That's because Yukimura created to one purpose only; to lose to Ryoma.
Like you say, we haven't seen Yukimura lifted even his racket 'till now, just being implied to be superstrong, or better than Tezuka & Sanada at least.
But assuming that Sanada w/o Muga can even battle equally & beat Tezuka w/ 2 Muga & beat him, there's probability that Yukimura ability not just lie in Muga, but some other "hax" ability as well that's equal to it or so...., seeing how great Fuji & Sanada capable to play w/o one, I wouldn't say Muga is the strongest technique/ability in PoT anymore.

Sanada does have Muga doesnt he? I thought he just doesnt use it...Might have misread that part then(?). Neways, the fact that Yukimura has never played a match is whats disturbing me. It can provide Echizen the utlimate victory if Yukimura is defeated but if Ryoma is defeated it would fit in except the fact that Ryoma is invincible.
Thats why I like Fuji the most. He uses techniques to defeat his opponents rather than this supernatural bs even though the techniques are unreal its still far better than seeing OH LOOK ITS MUGA...
Rain-chan
11-28-2007, 09:25 PM
^^; Fuji is something isn't he... his techniques were interesting to see but I think Konomi had just overdone it a bit...
As for Echizen and Yukimura... From what Konomi had doen the the past, I still stand by that there's 99% chance he'll win S1... 95% chance that he'll loose 5-0 first then come back in the final matchpoint with some special technique (whether its Muga or not)... But I still wish that this will not be the case =.=) Maybe the fact that Yukimura hasn't played in the manga yet will make the match more interesting...

I think your percentage is a little high lol. I would say 99% that Echizen would be S1 as well. But ~50% to come back if he is down 5-0. I mean if Konomi decides to draw it that way then this truly would become 1 of the WORST mangas I have followed and up to date with.
Yukimura..we arent even sure if he knows how to play tennis...I think I seen him hold a racket during 1 of the flashbacks(or was that in the anime?..forgot). But never actually hitting the ball or playing a mathc. But everyone is hyping him up as if he's a GOD...for all I know he's just bluffing and doesnt even know how to play tennis, maybe same level as mr. I have 3years of tennis experience aka Horio(I think thats his name?).

If it's come to draw, then Momo & Yagyuu will have to play, simple as that.....
I don't really mind actually, but hey...., it doesn't sell for a climatic ending If Momo is the one who will win it for Seigaku....
Unless now..., for whatever dumb reason, Momo & Yagyuu actually play S1 first to draw, then the real final match is the reserve match between Ryoma & Yukimura.

Blahz..wont be a draw..it would ruin the manga more if you ask me if that happens. The best ending they could do now is have Ryoma lose...just happens to be what im hoping for =P.
I dont see how that option is possible. Its almost certain that Yukimura is going to be S1. There would be no way that Yagyuu would be there unless seriously BOTH teams agreed/console about this.

hum... consider konomi had already used that 5-0 thing on Fuji that second percentage was a bit high.... but still possible...
If it was a draw (eventhough unlikely...) it would be kinda bad, just proves that he want's to drag the whole series on more ^^;;
And yeah, despite the fact we want to see Echizen loose for one I think the 'magic' bestowed upon him seems quite permanent... unfortunately...
ironbomb

hmm now that you mention it...the tie does seem like a decent possiblity. That way Ryoma doesnt have to lose and the team can still lose through Momo because he is tired from helping Ryoma regain his memory... Also would drag out the manga like you mention which is exactly what he is doing right now.

oh..didnt know there was a new thread..
anyways..dont shoot me for this but..i actually want ryoma to win..*cowers* idk..or at least have it a really close loss. a 7-6 yukimura..if ryoma loses its still probably gonna go something like..ryoma loses. gets motivated. powers up and/or learns new technique. plays yukimura again and wins..which would draw it out even more..(oh..wait..is prince of tennis going to end with this arc?..if it is i guess my theory would be void..^^;; )
and that tie and play reserve possibility sounds good..it would draw the story out more but i dont think i would mind..^^ hehe..

well IMO i have absolutely no problem with ryoma losing. but if he loses seigaku loses, which goes with it the exit of the 3rd years without experiencing a nationals title, etc. if ryoma is to lose the best time for it WAS in the kantou finals, because being finalists they can still be in the nationals definitely and a "bye" for the first round match, and we're looking forward to a revenge by seigaku.

My sister just thought of a weird match up for S1.
Momo vs. Yagyuu. Then it'll end up in a tie then the reserves, Echizen and Yukimura would play.
Of course, that's impossible to happen. Who in their right mind would put the CAPTAIN as a reserve?! o____O;;

Too many Echizen Supporters...Must stop the spread of Ryomas Cockiness...lol..I gotta use this line "A win is a win, Doesnt matter if you win by a mile or by a few centimeters." - Vin Diesel from F&F ^^...Loved that line lol. Neways, with that said I just want a lost for Ryoma. I was told that Konomi was planning to end this manga...Or someone told me..forgot. There shouldnt be another arc after this 1.
Blahz, Im not toooo excited to see Yukimura in action. I am thrilled to see a possibility of Ryoma losing ^^.

and by that being a possible ending i mean u see echizen on one side of the court, all his rivals and friends and the other and his dad watching, and then it just ends, that way we can picture echizen losing xD

ryoma not losing once in the series is ok for me, because even tezuka lost his first official match in his 3rd year, and ryoma's still first year. i'm looking forward to a seigaku nationals title because it was the 3rd years that worked the hardest to reach it. ryoma must not lose now, because i hate sad endings. i'm more of feeling a sympathy to the 3rd years than being a fan of ryoma here. surely i had loved to see him lose. but not now, not when it matters to the team. i really want to see seigaku win this one.

But Konomi should've let Ryoma loose an official match before the Nationals though... now they really all seem like 'monsters' ^^; unreal...

I really do doubt the mangaka can drag this manga out for another WHOLE year especially when this is the last arc. There is basicly S1 left after this current match. Unless he goes Hiatus or something to put the manga in stall to tease us...I doubt this will last more than another 25chapters.

I think there isn't going to be a 50.5 fanbook, since maybe the manga's going to end somewhere in the volume 40's.
Speaking of the 50.5 fanbook, the 40.5 fanbook came out and we found out some interesting things about ****enhouji, Rikkai Dai and Hyoutei =D

Seems like Golden Pair will win easily after all while Ryoma regaining his memory, Atobe & Sanada will help jogging his memory too.
Now If only Kintarou is present as well, we might have another showdown between Ryoma & him before playing against Yukimura.

Worst case possible ending - Ryoma doesnt recover his memories. He enters the S1 match and is down 5 games to 0. Recovers and win the match....that would be the WORST ending.
Best ending - Ryoma regains his memories. Fights a GOOD match against Yukimura, 6-6 tiebreaker...losing the match due to fatigue of having to play so many matches with other players to recover his memory before coming to this match.

ironbomb
12-17-2007, 12:44 AM
According to the current storyline..Sanada > Tezuka and Yukimura > Sanada, so it would only be good to assume that Yukimura > Tezuka and Fuji cant be compared to Tezuka yet since they havent played a match yet and that match that played between that copycat and Fuji doesnt count since its not accountable for the real 1...
MangaMan777

No, according to Sanada himself, he had NEVER won against Tezuka before their recent showdown, so in the past Tezuka > Sanada, Yukimura is discribed as equal, but as of currently, Yukimura has probably suprassed Tezuka like how Sanada is now equal/slightly better than Tezuka.

i still dont get what they meant about yips? can someone explain that?
what i got from that is yukimura can cause his opponents to have yips?
i cant wait for this match. no one, reading the manga know yukimura's abilities , but yukimura has been observing seigaku and echizen's abilities maybe even watch videos from the kantou finals. yukimura says he can counter sanada's lightning, he went muga long time ago, and he probably knows about the pinnacles, cause i think tezuka used it to beat sanada back in the freshman days.
of course echizen is gonna win. It's not about being a ryoma fan, its the manga author. Why make a manga where the hero fails in the end and seigaku has come so far.
all i can say is ryoma is arrogant now but he will be sweating and will be beat up before he wins.

i actually reckon that echizen will be able to achieve all three mugas (hard work, wisdom and perfection) and then yukimura will lose because at the end, echizen shows him the pinnacle of perfection.
anyway, i really hope that seigaku loses... which is soooooo unlikely cause echizen havent even lost one official match and seigaku (as a school) havent lost once yet... so, that's kinda bad for rikkai supporters
i think that the plot is too predictable, like when they have a really hard time then something miraculous happens, then they win.
But reading all the replies in this thread, it seems that everyone wants Rikkai to win...
I don't think Konomi knows how predictable his plot is... I would like to tell him (lol), but I have no idea how to write japanese, so... maybe if someone tells him by writing him a letter or something... maybe he'll realise how predictable that seigaku is gonna win but that no one actually wants them to...
p.s. (no offence to seigaku supporters... I just meant the majority of people... actually, if only seigaku wasnt playing against rikkai, then i would go for seigaku)

this was a great chapter, the way echizen was getting owned then finally got a point, and it wasnt just 1 page he pulled off a nice, and also nicely illustrated combo.
however yeah if he gets a comeback it will be gay, cuz if he lost 3 games and couldnt get a point he should not be able to level up that much this fast

And I totally agree with you that it would suck if he makes a comeback, cause it's just stupid... and unrealistic... also, it think it was weird to introduce that random girl or guy... couldn't tell... anyway... sanada was funny being pissed off
But I seriously thought it was a bad idea to introduce a character at this stage of the story... it's just like they wanted someone to say that line and because they can't get anyone who knows Sanada or Yukimura to say it, they get a random...

Well, knowing Ryoma's personality, he may have gotten overly excited...or he did that purposely to force Yukimura to get serious. You know how it is...he plays with his opponents at first and taunts them with his "bad boy" attitude to either be intimidated by his skills or force them to play their very best. Either way, he's just having fun...and acquiring new skills (I forgot what type it's called that he can adapt to other people's skills by watching). Caused ultimately, this isn't his goal. His eyes are set on his dad...who's actually waiting on the wing. That's one match I'm looking forward to watch...when this story reaches its climax.

Sanada might be able to defeat ryoma if he use the first two gate, Tezuka is also using two gate but who win

Sanada cant defeat ryoma.... a few chapters back when ryoma couldnt remeber anything sanada and atobe went to play him and ryoma returned with all his memories so that means Sanada losted against ryoma yet again though we dont know wheather he went all out on him so its an if if situation. (sorry my spelling is pretty messed up today midterms in school cant think right nor type right lol)

We don't know if Ryoma won, all we know is he got his memories back. He could easily have lost, as I'm sure a no memorie Ryoma cannot defeat Sanada
POT is just getting way to unrealistic

Of course it's getting unrealistic...it's a manga. lol :p
Anyway, you're right. We don't know if Ryoma won those games against those players who were helping him with his memories. But their reactions may indicate otherwise. And I think Atobe's (I think it was him) comment "the times are really changing because of that bastard's strength" may confirm that here (http://www.onemanga.com/Prince_of_Tennis/371/03/).

Perhaps he didn't actually win against them, but managed to counter every last of their techniques from their comment after the "enlightment matches".

but to be able to counter mean he defeat those guy. i mean when an opponent defeat every single technique of your, why they still lost to you

The new chapter basically showed Ryoma being pwn'd BIG time by Yukimura, I wonder how he will recover from this....

Yeah...it does. Doesn't it...?? This chapter was pretty hard on Ryoma. How is he going to get past this handicap...?? Idk. From what Toyama said on Yuki's style of tennis it paralyzes the opponent because they remember the image and can't move past it. I wonder if the outing that Ryoma had with his dad may help him in this respect.

I hope Ryoma wins but the situation he is in now it seems kind of hopless. But their has to be somthing about the pinical of perfection or something like that. I can't what to read the next chapter.

I got a feeling that he will still win this match, even though his senses had been taken away... maybe he will open the final gate. :D

How do you suppose that will happen...?? Will he need to get hit like when he played an unofficial match with Akaya which the first door (I think) opened?

Dont give up hope every 1! Ryoma may have lost his touch... and his sight.....and his hearing, BUT HE STILL HAS SMELL AND TASTE!! lol he can smell the ball back to Yukimura and he can taste the ball right back.... Ryoma is just cool like that

If you play tennis, then over 90% of the things done in PoT are near impossible. It took me a month to learn Twist Serve to a point where its possible to be "good". My point is, the Twist serve is suppose to be a "rookie" sort of move in PoT, while its not in real life.

But he isn't a "rookie" in a sense. He's a tennis prodigy. Look at his father. So the twist serve is a piece of cake for him.

okay~~~~so now we can steal away a persons senses with tennise! loz! who knew! i cant wait to hear their explanation of how this is done! oh but i love yukimura! ive always been a sucker for his kind of character! :o
as commented above prince of tennis has become so unrealistic its not even funny anymore..yet i read on! i still love the series! but man..lolz..the things they come up with..anyways i wonder if ryoma can win with the way things are going... at first i was sure ryoma was going to win just because thats the way things go in these stories but now im wondering if the mangaka is actually gonna have ryoma lose at this late point in time. of course the unrealistic tennis tactics might be accompanied with unrealistic turn of events..;)

my thoughts about pot's finishing moves:
twist serve=cool dunk smash= easily countered in real tennis snake=cool and useful
super ultra great delicious blah blah blah=........ yukimura's senses taken away whatever= dang near impossible to accomplish
so yeah, pot is starting to get really unrealistic, but i still love it

I was enjoying the series up until this point. They are really draging this last match out to the point where I'm starting not to care about the outcome.

It's slowly moving, finally, the pinacle of perfection in the next chapter...
does this mean the end of the manga?
i mean, what's beyond the pinacle of perfection? i'm guessing that they will win the nationals and then a short summary of Ryoma's great tennis career.
methaniel
02-09-2008, 01:53 PM
Of course it the end...After winning the nationals it would be the end of this manga, and as you said maybe some pics of the future

Yeah...but you forgot about his date with his dad in playing against each other. In one of the earlier vols (22 or 23, I forget which one) there was short story of Ryoma's father going to America to play tennis and why he quit just before he became the number one seed. It would be interesting to see if there was little bit of that game between father and son...being as they both reached the pinnacle of perfection. I know...nobody wants to drag the story on but I love PoT. Who doesn't...??

Nobody on this thread wouldn't hate PoT since they read and post about it.
So from now on it'll be fun to see what the Pinnacle of Perfection can do. It's Child of God vs Pinnacle of Perfection...The series won't end that quickly, Ryouma still has to defeat Tezuka or Fuji in a fair and square match.
methaniel
02-09-2008, 02:46 PM
Hmuh, I pretty guess it's the end, it's not like we need some fair match against Tezuka or Fuji, after this match, either it stop like this, either we saw some glimpse of the future, but if it continue, there is absolutly no interest in that
