I agree that Kisaragi is out, but he's still conscious. He just got slammed so hard by Kurita that his frail body may have a broken bone somewhere. He virtually sacrificed himself so Gaou could get Hiruma.

Speaking of drawings, did anyone ever find that "Draw Komusubi's Face" in volume 12 or something useful? I never tried it myself, so I'm just curious.

I still haven't tried it yet. But the magaka said out of all the characters in ES21 Komusubi is the easiest to draw (since his face resembles one of the Japanese character)

Coming back to Kisaragi, since he's probably out of the picture, Monta will be more effective, but does anyone think Sena will throw some fairly distant passes to him or will they be short passes?

Monta would be less effective. The Devil Backfire works since Monta knew Hiruma's trajectories, but he wouldn't know Sena's since he isn't the normal QB....so unless something happens the Devil Backfire should be ineffective...though he still has his regular catching abilities

But theoretically, his chances of catching are 100%, so I figured maybe if Sena made short passes, Monta could catch them. And yes, it isn't necessary for him to use Devil Backfire all the time. By more effective I meant that Monta would have little-to-no interference from someone like Kisaragi, as it's the CB's job and rarely anyone else's job to cover the receiver. It's quite possible that Monta will be an option again.

Running is also an option for Sena, but given his RB nature, I think the Dinosaurs are prepared for it.

Gauo hits Sena so hard and lands badly so that it fractures or breaks his legs. Everyone gets pissed off and fight like maniacs but they still lose. We get a recovery arc and since they did so well the school changes the 3rd year rule so that they get another chance at the Christmas Bowl.

Probably won't happen...Sena will probably totally mess up the passes then come back with a great technique to get them through.

But still, you can't count out that Sena could be taken out by Gaou.

Edit: Also, the Devil Backfire doesn't rely on Hiruma being the one passing. Wasn't the first time Monta used the Backfire was an interception in the Oujou game?

Sena is an average high sch student. So i dun expect him to be able to think like Hiruma or Yuki. I think he is going to use his common sense and intuition when acting as the QB hehe:D Then, he'll come up with his own technique combined with his speed ability:p

sorry to but in, but my thoughts on what will happen in ES 21

1.Obviously sena will have to scramble at first, he'll get a first down or two but then the defense will adapt to his habits cause of marco

2.sena has actually, made a few passes in the last few games, so he might get used to tossing up short gains to monta most likely

3.Sena will have to evolve yet again and become a Versitable running back that can run catch, and now throw, similar to how LT from the NFL team the chargers threw for a few touchdowns last year

Coming onto the game right now, and with Sena as QB, I hope Sena knows right away (or very soon) that the Dinosaurs are probably prepared for him to run with the ball.

Finished chapter 260. My thoughts have become prayers at this point, because things aren't looking good for the Devil Bats. Sena can barely snap the ball, Kurita has become traumatized, and Komusubi is forced to take on Gaou on his own. It's a sad sight, but hopefully things will change for the better.

BTW, Kurita can no longer understand what Komusubi is saying! That's how weak he became.

the scores like 34-7, this is gonna be as ridiculous as the game against the Nagas and Agon, a halftime rally is one thing, but your going to need to get kurita back into top form, komusubi will need tons of rest, and sena is going to have to find strength to truly be the QB of deimon for this match, otherwise this dream is gonna fall short

Prediction for the next chapter: Sena and komusubi's tactic may gain them a first down, then kurita will start snappig out of his sadness...

I'm wondering why they didn't try Yukimitsu. He has barely been used this game, so his stamina should be near intact. He actually has some height and is proficient in all the basic skills (although he'd probably freak out against Gaou =/ And no one really has a close bond with him aside from Monta and Sena, and even that isn't too strong).

Sena can catch, it's important for the running back to be able to catch, though not as good as a receiver. I'd like to see how the Devil Bat Dive can get past Gaou, but at the same time I think Gaou would swat him down.

No, but with Kurita awakening his killing intent, Sena didn't need to strain himself and use a Devil Bat Dive or throw a pass, he could just run right through. Now the problem is getting past Marco, who can steal the ball without the person carrying it noticing.

That's true, but from the sounds of it, Hiruma seemed to anticipate that Sena would take the job. Maybe this is the mangaka's way of showing us that Sena can do other things too. Someone will have to replace Hiruma as QB someday, and the story is building quite conveniently by choosing Sena to be a sub QB.

wow... this chapter was amazing, more or less it was really showed that no matter how good Sena did at QB, he would not be able to beat Marco in the battle of wits. The good thing is that Kurita can now hold up to Gao and the power struggle is not a problem.

Marco still has tricks up his sleeves, im shocked.. well not really, he's just using tactics from Football that u usually just see in a college game or a pro one. But i still think that Marco has a few more skills up to speed.

As for "Hiruma" returning. When i first read that page i was like holy **** its Hiruma.. but then i thought that it could be MAMORI too. Mamori is as smart as Hiruma and we all know that she has a develish side to her lolz. .... so what do u guys think abt that??

Yes, it was only the right arm. Eventually he could only feel the pain in his right arm, so it was broken, though not to the degree of Shien's arm.

I have a sneaky feeling that Sena will step up and tell Hiruma to step down to rest up his arm...as well as have him call out the plays from the sidelines.
