I think there may be some truth to that considering you're the top contributor to this thread. :D
Hassin, I don't think there's going to be much upcoming action for now. Since ending off from the last chp. I thought there was going to be a major focus on the Gate in the next chp. But I do agree we'll have some questions answered.
If we do see some action, maybe it will be from the soldiers catching up with Kimbley?
I am expecting Ed to fight back Kimbley somehow. He can just lie there and wait for others to come. But yes that Gate thing will be interesting too. Anyways, I'll hang Arakawa if she doesnt entertain us in the next chapter...lol..
We're not "rambling" ! We're scientifically analyzing and trying to foresee what could come next ! :p
But yes, this chapter caused the whole fandom to explode or something.
As for action in the next one... could we see another confrontation between Scar and Kimbley ? Kimbley intended to go after them (if I remember well).

Weekly FMA would rule. I think we should have as many out as they have in Japan. I don't know how often they put them out there, but it'd be nice to be up to date.
Syolen

Already FMA 4 ! We rock.
Sniper, FMA is released one time (one new chapter) a month in Japan too. They're waiting for chapter 77 just like we are. As for the books... I don't know, in France it's every two months. But we're what, 2 or 3 volumes behind ? It's not that much.
Sniper
10-30-2007, 03:47 AM
I thought it was that, but there had been previous mention of increasing the rate at which the mangas are uploaded. This lead me to believe that perhaps Japan is farther along and the fansubbers are just lazy (it's happened before). Apparently, that's not the case. I would be nice if they came out more often though.
Syolen
10-30-2007, 01:38 PM
I don't know... The chapters would be shorter and the story more... rushed ? I'd rather wait for long, awesome chapters :D (although I can't deny that they have been getting shorter). Besides, so far it's always been worth the wait. And... A cliffhanger like this one every week ? My poor fangirl heart wouldn't stand it...
Sniper
10-30-2007, 03:38 PM
No, I'm saying I'd like the same chapters, just faster. Same length, same quality, but only a one week wait. That would rule, though it's not gonna happen. A friend of mine told me that Claymore has weekly releases of chapters that are about 40 pages long. I don't read Claymore, so I don't know if this is true, but if it is they rule.
Syolen

No, I believe Claymore has always been a monthly release. It's been on hiatus for the last several months because the magazine it was running in ended. I think it ran in a few weekly issues, but not continuously. That may be where your friend got the idea.
I think all the weekly mangas are your average 15-20 pages long. I know Kubo Tite has complained in interviews how just doing those short chapters on a weekly basis consumes most of his life.
Those poor mangakas. Can you imagine if we had it our way and the mangas that ran 40+ pages were weekly? Those poor souls would work themselves to the ground.

the theory of al and ed meeting at the gate, i dont really get it. can someone explain please? ... :$ im kinda confused.
als soul was being pulled even before he (ed) fell unconscious tho, so how can this incident prove thier minds (or something like that) are connected?
(8-10 days left till the next chapter btw!)

I wonder how powerful the True Homunculus is<< Pride and i seriously would like to see The Father and Hoenheim fight! It would be great haha, but imaginary-wise would they die so easily.(imply to the brothers also)

als soul was being pulled even before he (ed) fell unconscious tho, so how can this incident prove thier minds (or something like that) are connected?
What do you mean by "Al's soul was being pulled even before he (ed) fell unconcious" ?
The theory that they are connected is that Ed is supporting Al's body while it's stuck in the gate, so he eats for it, sleeps for it, etc. So the theory is that if Ed is injured/dies then Al's body which is in the gate would have no way to survive, and essentially be cut off from it's lifeline, so even though Al's soul is attached to the armor I think he cant survive either way if his real body dies.
So When Ed is impaled and passes out Al passes out at the exact same time(http://www.onemanga.com/Full_Metal_Alchemist/76/32/ ). This just goes to show that it seems like Al is connected to Ed since nothing happened to Al. Ed being injured is the only reason we can see that would effect Al.
Anyway thats the logic behind this incident going toward proof of Ed's theory that they are connected.
chaos999
11-04-2007, 07:43 PM
I think Al body is starting to fend off the soul inside the metallic body and i dun think is related to Ed. Ed and Al is related by the Door i think since Ed can see Al through the Door because both of them entered the Door of Truth together.
Nickmogo
11-04-2007, 09:02 PM
If it's not related to Ed, then both of them collapsing at EXACTLY the same time would be a little bit too coincidental.
*Rika*
11-05-2007, 12:15 AM
in chapter 73, page 39 and 40, als body was calling his soul back. dunno if that was a sign/beginning of the rejection or what. ed wasnt in any state of unconsciousness during that time. but yeah, it would be a bit too coincidental that they just happened to collapse at the same time. mabye ed collapsing sped up als souls rejection from the armour?
me blabbering on again....
but i get the theory now. thanks Nickmogo
it might be because ed used his own blood to make the seal so id say its plausable

in chapter 73, page 39 and 40, als body was calling his soul back.
Al's spent pages and pages saying the armour could reject his soul any time, so it was bound to happen at some point.
I guess this scene in chapter 73 means that, whatever happens now, the brothers don't have much time left.
But Al did tell Winry that they wouldn't use to Stone even if Kimbley gave it to them (which I highly doubt he'd do), so they better find something useful in Scar's brother's notes. Ed's bleeding to death is going to slow them down though... --'
Why can't life be kind to the poor boys for once ??? **hugs them**
Uh... Sorry 'bout that.

11-05-2007, 04:13 AM

if the seal hadnt been written in eds blood would al still have collapsed? or did al collapse because its eds alchemy that was keeping his soul in the armor?
Nickmogo
11-05-2007, 04:24 AM
Random speculation time!!
I wonder, could Ed maybe do some kind of transfer with Al's soul maybe? Sort of like the suit of armor has worn out all it's soul connection, and maybe Ed could transfer Al's soul from the armor to another suit, and buy him some more time, since the new suit would take time to reject his soul. And since he already sacrificed his arm to make the original soul transmutation, maybe just transferring it wouldn't require another sacrifice?
I'm just spouting random theories now that we've discussed all the logical ones!

But i dont think both will die so easily and what actually lies within the Door/Gate Of Truth. Is it the other world mentioned in the anime?
ghassassin
11-05-2007, 10:57 AM
We dont know what lies to the other side of the gate, in the manga. But in the anime, they showed it to be the real world, I mean the world we live in, skyscrapers, jets and all.

OMG OMG OMG
I HAVE COME BACK TO EARTH TO TELL YOU GUYS A THEORY THAT STRUCK ME
ED WILL BECOME THE PHILOSPHERS STONE!
ok.. hear me out... after looking up alot of stuff on Amestris and the ruins and stuff i haven come to a conclusion! remamber the layout that Father had for Ed, Al, Izumi and Hoho back in chapter 73?! Well by re-reading and looking back i mangaed to find out who is who there. Ed is the one on the top left one. Then looking back on the ruins... i noticed the 5 suns were set up just like Ed, Al, Izumi and Hoho were. Then looking back on vol. 13 ed said that the sun ment soul... so there for the suns must represent the human sacrifices which, so far, are Ed, A, Izumi, and Hoho (notice how all 4 of them have seen the gate) And remember what Ed said about the Lion devouring that one sun... he said it reresented the philosphers stone... i also noticed that the sun that the lion was devouring... was the place where Ed has been set on Fathers circle thing in Ch 73... So will Ed be turned into the stone just like his father? *goes off and does more research*
.. here... at least try to understand this images XD: http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w135/TheGraphicAlchemist/THEORY.jpg?t=1194385028

I dont know about this. But I dont think they will show something like this. The anime showed Al turning into a philosopher stone, manga showing Ed turning into philosopher's stone. Cmon now, whats new then ?
Syolen
11-06-2007, 09:15 PM
Maybe Syolen is lying to us and saying it comes out in 6 days, just so she can be the bearer of good news and surprise us all early!
HEY !!! What's that supposed to mean ?? I'm not lying, it's written at the bottom of the last page of chapter 76. I promise it is ! Heck, I run the Official Countdown here ! :p
AshleyElric, back from the dead !! How was that little trip through the Gate and back ? :p
So, your theory. If Ed does become the Stone, the first thing he'll do will be to make himself TALLER. But that could only happen if Father activated the circle around Amestris and made the sacrifices, wouldn't it ? So Ed would be... well... too dead to become the Stone. And I don't think Father would let something like this happen. But then again, I don't know why he made Hohenheim immortal in the first place either... --'
Ah, and there's something else I don't understand... Among the possible sacrifices, Mustang's the only one who hasn't seen the Gate. So why is he one of them ? Me confused...
(I already said this, but : D-6 !)
AshleyElric
11-06-2007, 09:23 PM

... ok.. seriously now.. we all know that eds gunna survive.. im saying that this will happen in the next chapter.. im saying at some point
I don't know why he made Hohenheim immortal in the first place either... --'
it was an accident.... the emporor was supposed to come immortal... but hoenhiem accidently got in the middle of the cirlce instead of the emporor
Ah, and there's something else I don't understand... Among the possible sacrifices, Mustang's the only one who hasn't seen the Gate. So why is he one of them ? Me confused...
Because hes not an 'official' sacrifice yet i belive
remember the homunculi kept on saying 'leading candidate' for human sacrifice

Ah, and there's something else I don't understand... Among the possible sacrifices, Mustang's the only one who hasn't seen the Gate. So why is he one of them ? Me confused...
Well you know how those evil Homunculi types are, like Ashley said, they have their leading candidates, I'm sure they have plans to manipulate things to force mustang to open the gate or something to that effect, they have their ways to get more sacrifices, Mustang must just be the best possible choice right now.
I kinda like the theory-even if its a tad confusing. I reckon Als gonna have a lil "chat" with his body (can he chat to it? I can't remember if it talks or not) Im worried about Ed, noone's around to save him other than Kimbley, and noone wants to be in that evil *bad word*'s debt.
I also worry about Mustang. If he is a liekly candidate what are they gonna do to make him desperate enough to open the gate? :'( Hes such a softie really he'd break apart too easily. (I love mustang, incase it's not obvious :P)
I want more central action, Briggs is cool and all but I wanna see what Armstrong is up to in now she's in with the highers
Winry Chan
11-07-2007, 10:49 AM
I..also like the theory that Ed might become a philosopher's stone. But for now, I'd be happy with him just surviving that I beam....
Wait - The next chapter is released on 11.12..... however, it takes time to scan it, then translate it, then upload it to onemanga.com..... I hope I'm not popping anyone's happiness bubble, but...we might have to wait for an extra day or two to wait for the translation.....
Translated chapters usually come out around 15. in a month...
As for the theory, last time the circle was smaller, does that mean Ed would be more powerful than Hoho, or the result in all would be completely different?
AshleyElric
11-07-2007, 12:02 PM
i belive they were both the same size...
remember... the first time they made the transmutaion circle out of Xerxes by digging that trench
chaos999

Speaking of which the, do u think that Izumi Curtis would let the Father used her as a sacrifice for the making of Philosopher stone since u nid 5 candidates that opened the gate.

Hey - a few random thoughts:
o Kidney automail!
o Ed's soul gets stuck in Al's armor while Al is still at the Gate.
o Scar, Marcoh, and Mei find out that the "something is wrong with this country's alchemy" line means that while Rentanjitsu is medicine (heal wounds, etc.), Renkinjitsu is supposed to be used "for the people" but is really just used for selfish purposes (*coughdogofthemilitarycough*).
Yeah. Totally random thoughts that just popped up in my head. I especially like the first one, though. :D
But the Ed being the Philosopher's stone... a question about that: Wouldn't he actually have to be in that location? How will Father place all the human sacrifices in their respective positions around Amestris? Ed and Al on opposite sides of Amestris?
Hm... If it comes out on the 12, would that be Japan time or US time? 'Cause I live in China, so... a few hours ahead?

Chapter 77, "Reverse Transmutation Circle"
(Interim chapter title by me till I read the raw and find out more about this chapter. ^^)
Pic of Ed with golden eyes, with lots of animals ??. (I have to wait for the raw to find out what it really looks. ^^)
------------------
Now with the chapter summary... the story continues from the last chapter, where Ed is at the bottom of mine shaft with a steel pole sticking through his side...
Ed is half conscious.
In his mind, he is recalling words from Riza, Al, and Winry.
Ed: "I can't make her/them (not sure yet.. have to read the raw ^^) cry."
Ed breaks off the steel pole with his Alchemy, and also help out Chimera solders from under the rubble.
Ed falls on the ground. Chimera solders are worried. Ed asks to pull out the steel poll.
Ed use Alchemy to close off the wound.
With heavily injured body, Ed tries to chase Kimbley.
Lion Chimera solder carries Ed on his back.
Ed loses consciousness on Lion Chimera's back.
Worried about Ed, Chimera solders decide to find a doctor instead of Kimbley.
It seems their loyalty to Kimbley is all gone.
On the way, they pick up the Philosopher's Stone.
Al is being disassembled and being carried away.
Al gains consciousness.
Al: "This is the second time I've lost the consciousness."
Marcho: "We have to carry you in pieces for a while."
Scar and the company settle in an abandoned hut.
Mei remembers Marcho's words to Al about disassembling Al in pieces, and struck with an idea.
Mei takes Scar's brother's research notes, and loosens the seam and disassemble the pages.
Mei: "This notes talks about Gold and Immortality repeatedly, using many words with subtle differences in the expressions. What happens if we disassemble the pages and layer the pages by the part that has the same word...."
They layer the pages by the words and draw connecting lines.
They form the transmutation circle for the Philosopher's Stone, as Marcho had already predicted before.
Marcho: "We needed to find the way to reverse this crisis, else we will suffer enormous casualties... "
They are rather disappointed.
Yoki sneezes. Blowing away the pages.
Al: "Oh no, the pages are all lose again. Which one was the right side... ?!"
Now Al is struck with an idea.
Al: "Reversing.." "This.. Crises!!"
Without changing the position of each page to others, but this time, the lines form another pentagon in the center of the drawing.
Mei: "Incorporating Rentanjitsu, this is a new transmutation circle for the Amestris country!"
Kimbley is going further into the mining tunnels, searching for Scar. Realizing that there seems to be no sign of recent visits by men, decides to return back, then notices a door marked with an x.
The place seems to have been used to carry away the stones and debris produced by Sloth's digging.
Suddenly, shadowy eyes appear over Kimbley's head.
"How do you do. I am Pride."
Pride orders Kimbley to search for Scar later, and instead to carve a seal of blood on Briggs.
Kimbley tells that it is going to be difficult as Briggs soldiers are working as if one solid monolith.
Pride: "You must use that solidness."
Pride: "The tunnel Sloth is digging will be completed soon."

There may be some more information later, I'll post it as it comes. :)
I can't wait until the chapter comes out so we can really get down into discussion. :D

Ooooh, spoilers ! Can't live with them (we should be dutifully waiting for the chapter to come out), but can't live without them either !
Thank you, Pansori !

If I enjoy a series I always strive to not read the spoilers, but I don't have the willpower. :D
Especially for these 1 month series. I can never wait!

*nods* I totally understand and agree. The (very) long wait is (finally) coming to an end ! Isn't that great ?:D

Hmm...well I don't really mind spoilers. Not much at all. Because I don't feel like I've absorbed anything until I've seen the artwork and read it in layout. Y'all get me?
It's nice to get some more info though....especially after last chapter's cliffhanger.....

Yeah I know what you mean, the information doesn't really sink in without the visuals and dialogue
like right now seems pretty lame, Ed pulls out pole and chimeras carry him away, Al and marcoh talk about a book, kimbley talks to pride, end -_-
But once the chapter actually comes out I'm sure it'll be awesome

lol i totally agree with you! i was reading it and got so disappointed there wasnt a gate scene... i was like: jeez... what a lame way to get out of that... i felt like i was waiting for a month for nothing... but im also sure once the RAWs come out, itll be better
EDIT: RAWS ARE HERE http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21331

Guys, I don't mean to sound like a prude, but lets not discuss what happens in the chapters until it's out and translated... remember other people have stronger wills than us and they don't read the spoilers. ;)
Or, if you want to discuss, just put spoiler tags on it, so as not to ruin it for anyone.

Thank you SO much, AshleyElric !
Right, I don't know how many people have read Pansori's post or seen the raw, so :
Yeah, no Gate scene, but now Ed's virtually got the Stone. It could come in handy... And I guess the "doctor" the chimeras were talking about will end up being Marcoh. A little family reunion, woudn't that be sweet ? :p
AshleyElric
11-11-2007, 04:30 PM
.... im trying to find a translation somewhere but like nobody has them up yet... im constantly checking mangahelpers cause they get everything up pretty fast and on the same day as the raw comes out so it should only be a little while longer.... the scanlations won't probably come out till tomarrow
EDIT: Tombow is currently working on translations! shes currently on page 21! keep checking back every 20 minutes.. she gets um up fast! http://www.fullmetal-alchemist.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11879

Just read the chapter.
That was kinda anti-climatic. I'm not really disappointed as such but I had hoped for something more dramatic to happen. But at least everyone's still alive.

Yeah this chapter was a bit slow, not too much happened action or plot wise.
Ed being rescued and taken to a doctor, Maroh-Al-Mae finding out the reverse transmutation circle, and Kimbley planning to attack Briggs with Sloth?
Nothing terribly exciting
I didn't like the last page, where it said "The Plan Enters Its Final Stage!"
ON one hand it means thing will get interesting soon
But also that line just gives me a sinking feeling and makes it sound like FMA is coming to and end soon =(
but maybe that's just me being pessimistic

what was with the reverse transmutation circle anyway i didnt really get it
Pansori
11-12-2007, 06:40 PM
I thought it was an interesting chapter. In a way a lot happened, and in a way it didn't. I thought the baddies wanted Ed to carve the bloody crest into the mountain, but since they figured that's not possible now they're trying to recruit Kimblee (who was looking so awesome as he licked the blood off his hands ).
What Ed did was kind of interesting. Did he use his soul for alchemy to help stop the bleeding? And if he did, was it because he is something of a Philosopher's Stone (since his dad is one) or is it because he had touched Envy's and knew what to expect?
And I have no idea what's going on with Mei and them and the transmutation circle! I'm going to have to read that part over, it was confusing.
But Arakawa sure knows how to fool us. I think we were all convinced Ed and Al were going to be making a trip to the gate this chapter.
@ Nick: I agree with you about the plan entering the final stage. It's exciting because things are heating up, but also sad because the more chapters that come out, the closer it seems we are to the end. FMA was my first manga, and I've been reading it almost since the beginning. It's been my favorite read for a very long time now, lol. When it finally ends I think it'll be the end of an era for me. :(

11-12-2007, 07:35 PM
Yeah, I'm not really sure what the significance of the Reverse-transmutation cirlce is. I thought their goal was just to stop the transmutation in it tracks, not use some kind of alternate cirlce, so I have no idea.
What Ed did was kind of interesting. Did he use his soul for alchemy to help stop the bleeding? And if he did, was it because he is something of a Philosopher's Stone (since his dad is one) or is it because he had touched Envy's and knew what to expect?
Incoming theory!
What I got from it is that he used Alchemy similar to using a Philosopher's Stone. Every person is a mass of life energy, much like the Philosopher's Stone is a mass of many many lives worth of life energy, since lots and lots of human lives are used to make it. So, much like Kimbley can draw on the life energy stored in a Philosopher's stone to increase the power of his alchemy, Humans can draw on their own life energy to increase their power, but at the expense of their overall life span, instead of stones life force. Also it doesn't grant as much power as a stone. So The downside is, unlike a Stone, using Life Energy cuts your life short, and you probably still have to obey the laws of equivalent exchange.
Side Note: This would explain how every time the Homunculi used it's Philosopher's Stone to regenerate, it would drain the life force stored within the stone, so once all the life force was used up, they die.
Since Ed has touched the stone inside Envy and felt how it works, I think he understood how to draw on his Life Energy in the same way.
Hope that makes sense!
Sniper
11-12-2007, 08:34 PM
Yeah, you got it right. He managed to do human alchemy to save himself, but he won't live as long since he had to use his own life force to heal himself. If anyone watches/reads Naruto, it's kinda the same as Tsunade's ability.
Also, they should have shattered Sloth when they had the chance.
AshleyElric

yeah... i mentioned that on the last thread... its interesting... *cant think now because mind is trying to make something of this chapter*
*Rika*
11-13-2007, 01:57 AM
i think the transmutation circle is to counter the existing transmutation cirlce in ametris, using a mix of xingenese alchemy and ametris born alchemy. (since scars bro was an ishvalan and ishvalans' type is a mix of both like the tatoo on scars arm). so if they activated the circle with full rentanjutsu, then the cirlce would be more powerful. or have a part of it rentanjutsu.
Also, there were repeating words and colaboration of symbols in the notes and they decided that it was kinda fishy so mei came up with a theory thingy that resulted in the transmutation cirlcle. dunno how al came up with the 'reverse the pages' thing or the way the pages were layed out on the floor. to me it looked like random pages placed on top of each other. i understand the concept and transmutation circle bit with all the symbols and all, but how they ordered them was really confusing. (i know, i'm not much help at all...)
Random prediction time!
the lines that sort of stray as it reaches the middle and connects to another lone symbol on page 25 could be where the peeps activating the circle would transmute to!^^ (that probably didnt make much sense at all)
Mabye the chimeras will try and heal ed by themselves by using the stone and, knowing nothing about alchemy do the same thing to ed as father did to ling? or ed might use it to bring Al back, since he's realized that to acheive their goal he might end up using lives or something like that. Speaking of Ling, i wanna see more of Ranfan, Ling, Fu/Mustang and Co. I'm missing them XD
And , yeah, it does seem FMA is closing towards a finale and it all going to end soon, which will bring much sadness to us fans :( But Arakawa will probably finish it all of with a well executed and fitting ending. Such a good mangaka:thumbup:
(is it me or did pride look really creepy at the end of that chapter?)
Nickmogo
11-13-2007, 02:02 AM
I understand how they got the reverse circle, but I don't understand what it's for, what will happen to Ametris is they active the rentanjutsu circle
thats what I want to know.
*Rika*
11-13-2007, 02:14 AM
could it be that it would just nulify the effects of the current circle by father if activated at the same time? resulting in nothing happening to ametris?
Nickmogo
11-13-2007, 02:17 AM
Yeah but, would it still need sacrifices, or can it just be transmuted without any human sacrifice?
And it seems highly unlikely Ed and company plan to transmute their rentanjutsu circle at the EXACT same time as Father's circle in order to cancel it out, I don't think that's their plan
I just can't figure out what it could be used for
*Rika*
11-13-2007, 02:33 AM
youre probably right. it would be pretty hard for them to do that and only if the circle means going to the gate would there be any use for human sacrafices. now i'm just lost for theories...
Well rentanjutsu is for healing and sorts so mabye to affix everyones souls back to their bodies after the event occurs? crazy idea but its something
(i seriously got to get some sleep. GMT)
Nickmogo
11-13-2007, 02:43 AM
Yeah that might work except, Father's transmutation would kill everyone in Ametris, so there would be nobody left to use the Rentanjutsu circle afterwards
*Rika*
11-13-2007, 03:00 AM
True. well, i cant think of anything else. hmm... because most of the sacrafices know of xingenese alchemy and they might learn it (you never know) they could transute the rentan circle intead of the renkin one. but how would they get a rentan circle like that size into place around the countr with the little time they have?
Nickmogo
11-13-2007, 03:07 AM
Yeah I just don't understand why they need a rentan circle at ALL. The way I see it, they just need to destory Fathers circle, or stop him from transmuting
I don't see any reason for them to need a Rentan circle in the first place
*Rika*
11-13-2007, 03:24 AM
it could be a bit easier that way but how things are going right now how can any of the suggestions happen. i mean eds busted up and kimblee is going to carve the crest upon briggs. they might get more time to work out how to stop the disaster from happening if father and co realize the elric bros arnt in good condition, hoho is holding izumi well away from centrals grasp and if the briggs hold out against kimblees gang without killing too many peeps for a while.
who knows what Arakawa has in store...

Where are all the FMA fans =(
Syolen
11-14-2007, 12:29 AM
**joins the party** Sorry I'm late ! :D
So.
- Short chapter.
- I don't know what the reverse circle is for either. I agree with Nickmogo on that : wouldn't it be enough to just destroy Sloth's circle or to prevent Father from activating it ? Hm... Come to think of it, destroying the circle would be easy. Ed or Al could probably do it without a problem using their own alchemy, making the tunnel collapse or something. But that'd be too easy. So I guess they do need the reverse circle. How are they going to use it ? No idea.
- Ed had to shorten his lifespan to heal himself. That was really brave, but how many years has he lost ? I just hope Hohenheim can do something about that, being a Stone and all. The poor boy has already sacrificed his limbs, his childhood and now his lifespan trying to make things right, so Hoho better come and help his son for once !
- Yes, I think we're getting close to the end too. But there are so many things going on, Arakawa just can't wrap it all up in a couple of chapters. We probably still have a year to go or so ! (But what am I going to do without my monthly dose of FMA-awesomeness ?? )

If Ed dies I think I would. Be. Devastated. That would be one crushing blow, but I am concerned about the significance of him using some of his life force to heal himself. Will this act come back in the end to haunt him? After the ending of the anime and the movie we have to have a happy ending for those boys!!!
And what's up with Kimbley, seems like he's going to be around a bit longer. He's slowly becoming a key player.
Ed still needs medical attention, too, so we'll see how this all wraps up.
Didn't Arakawa say she wants to see FMA hit 100? Maybe this arc is ending and the final arc is around the corner?

The most intriguing thing about this chapter is that nobody knows where Ed is now. Or if he's even alive. Kimbley propably think that he managed to kill Ed. Major Miles and company would only have seen the collapse, It'll take them a while to dig around to decide that his body is nort there. The chimeras just started off in a random direction to avoid both Kimbley and Miles, so who knows where they might end up before Ed regains consciousness. Where do they imagine they can find a doctor in the frozen wasteland anyway?
Has Kimbley realized that he lost the stone yet? At least he didn't confess it to Pide.

I wouldn't be surprised if the doctor ended up being Marcoh. And Ed's virtually got the Philosopher's Stone now (the Monkey Chimera has it), someone's probably going to use it in some way (to counter the one Kimbley still has ?).
I think next chapter (to be released on December the 12th, people !) will be mostly about Mustang and Armstrong in Central, and probably about Kimbley going back to the fortress to carve the crest. And maybe about Hohenheim, too.

Kimbley have 2 stones, as he showed in pervious chapters, perhaps the one he lost already run out of energy and such.
The philosopher stone may vary depending of how many lives sacrificed so far, and as it shown in the past, the one that Kimbley have lost is created by sacrificing Ishvall people lives. Perhaps Hoheinheim is the only geniune Philosopher stone, as it shown by Mustang he's also able to kill Lust after he forced the Philosopher Stone to use up all its energy.
Syolen
11-14-2007, 04:17 AM
I think that even Hohenheim could eventually "run out of energy", just like the Homonculi did. His Stone is just made of many more souls than the Homonculi's.
Besides, Kimbley wouldn't carry a useless Stone around. So I guess the two Stones he had work perfectly.
At least, the one the Monkey Chimera pickep up HAS to, because if it doesn't, Edward won't be properly healed, he'll reopen his wound (it's Ed. You just know he would do that.), and Al's soul would be pulled away again, and there's NO WAY that's happening again. So that Stone HAS to work. **tries to quiet her inner fangirl**

Ed had to shorten his lifespan to heal himself. That was really brave,
Not really, he would have died right then and there if he didn't. He actually lengthened his life by quite a bit.;)

I think the Chimera's have no choice but to head to Briggs fortress, they have no way of knowing where Marcoh and the others are, so I think thats the only place they can head to
But who is in charge of Briggs now that Armstrong is in Central, I can't remember, so I don't know if that someone would welcome Ed and chimera friends or not.
And I don't think Ed using his life force to heal himself took off enough of his life to matter for us, I think the series will have well and ended before that lost time comes into play
Unless Ed is forced to keep using his life energy in the future =o that would not be good =(

That was the best he could have done at that time. Shortening life by few days or years was much better than dying right there. What was Kimbley doing btw? I didnt get what he was searching or looking for. And that Rentan thing was quite obvious, that was random that they joined them in a certain fashion and got that circular pattern. A person life's force has similar energy to the Philosopher stone right? Then can Ed rejuvenate his life's force using the semi red stone?
Nickmogo
11-14-2007, 04:28 PM
Nah, Ed would never use the stored life force of other humans to restore his own life, that's the whole reason they aren't searching for the philosopher's stone anymore to restore their bodies, they don't want to use a tool that is made by murdering people.
Then he has to realize that what's been done can't be undone. If philosopher's stone has already been made he should use it, since he can't bring those people back but maybe can stop them from making more...

Theory:
Since the original homunculus, Father, taught Hohenheim alchemy and 'taught' the Cselkcess emperor the philosopher's stone transmutation circle, and not knowing why Scar and Mei could still use alchemy (Ch 55) , does that mean that the rendanshu circle could destroy Father?
I agree with J.T. If he can't put the souls to use, they'll just end up in endless agony. Does anyone else here also think that the souls in the philospher's stone are still alive? At least they're lives will be used to help people (Ed!) instead of a massacre (Ishbal).
This chapter was... okay. It wasn't exciting overall (except that Ed 'lived' and Al woke up and that means they're both still alive for the time being), but I do have disappointments: The last page of Ch 76 has someone (logic assumes it to be Winry) cry Ed's name, but if it were indeed Winry, why is she completely calm in this chapter?
And by the way, being the shameless EdxWin fan that I am, how happy was I to see Winry being the last (and I believe, most important) thing Ed sees before mustering up the determination to heal himself and "not make them cry"? Eh? ^^

And yes, since Father can neutralize alchemy, I guess Ed and co will have to use Rentanjutsu to stop him. Unless Hohenheim defeats him. He's a Philosopher's Stone, so I don't think Father's powers would have much influence with him. Hoho probably knows what Father's up to, so he'll try to stop him, won't he ?

But yes, I agree, if anyone knows how to stop Father it would be Hoho. But I'm still confused as to why Pride's real form resembles Father's original form so much? Every other Homunculi we've seen in their forms are something completely different, and monstrous.
And once again, if Envy was made up of all the dead souls, how is it possible that Pride is older than him? Did Father just somehow store it up?
Could Xing's alchemy be used to destroy Father? It's more of a healing alchemy, I'm not sure how that would fit in.
Hmm, another question: Did Arakawa ever explain how Mei was still able to use her alchemy even though no one else could back when they confronted Father? I know it has something to do with the type of Alchemy she uses, but why was it not affected like Ed and Al's?
Useless
11-15-2007, 05:26 AM
Xing's alchemy isn't effected by Father's alchemic blocking thing...so thats why the new circle is necessary to stopping Father. I'm guessing that Pride was created to look like Father's original form since he was the first Homunculus. Mei's alchemy is Rentanjutsu, or w/e its called..i forgot..>.>, and Father doesn't block agaisnt Xing's alchemy...

I agree with Useless on that. Pride's form probably has something to do with him being the first Homonculus.
I think Father did store all the souls. We see them in chapter 57. But why did he use them to create Envy and not Pride ? Why did he use them to create Envy at all (he could have created him the same way he created Lust or Gluttony) ? No idea !
Could Xing's alchemy be used to destroy Father? It's more of a healing alchemy, I'm not sure how that would fit in.
Maybe it could be used to counter Father's destructive powers ? Then it wouldn't be used to attack, only to defend.

Yay chapter 77 is up! (does a happy dance)
I really did enjoy this chapter. I thought some really interesting foreshadowing came out, not to mention the quieter chapters are great for those character moments.
The expression on Scar's face when Mei dumped the papers all over the floor was priceless and Kimbly was just creepy.
I have some theories... let me know what you think!
First, they talk about a 'philosopher from the west ' in Xing and I think about a 'philosopher from the east' in Amestris. I think after Xerxes, Hoho. researched a different alchemy to maybe counter 'Father'. Hoho. broke with him and went east to Xing and taught them. 'Father' meanwhile went west to teach them his alchemy and begin laying the groundwork (sorry) for a new philosopher's stone array. They end up being the philosophers of legend.
Hmm, another question: Did Arakawa ever explain how Mei was still able to use her alchemy even though no one else could back when they confronted Father? I know it has something to do with the type of Alchemy she uses, but why was it not affected like Ed and Al's?
Actually I think it came up in chapter 58 when Scar's brother was explaining Xing alchemy. He said that Xing alchemy drew from 'Lung Mei' which comes from the ground and is everywhere. He also associated it with thier god Ishbala, a god of the earth.
I think western alchemy might be very surface and gets its power only from living things around. Eastern alchemy might be 'deeper' and draws itself from the earth. Father could only block Ed and Al from drawing power from around them but Mei and Scar were pulling power right from the earth .
Also Scar's brother mentioned something that could explain how the counter array might work. The philosopher's stone array works by creating 'blood seals' at points around the array. Negative emotion is used to create the stone.
Scar's brother talked about negative emotions causing negative flow in the power of the world. He then theorized that positive feelings gathered together would create positive flow. He designed an array that would tap into positive emotions created at specific points.
That should counter the negative array.
That makes me wonder if there are two kinds of philosophers stone.
There's one created negatively, through death, so maybe with the new array, a positive philosophers stone can be created using the energy flow of the world?
Sorry for the ramble, does any of this make sense?
Nickmogo
11-17-2007, 05:48 AM
I don't think the counter array would do anything like creating a philosopher's stone, I believe its possible that it could counter Father's array or something to that effect, but I don't think it'll do anything like create its own stone.
I think It all comes back to equivalent exchange and Xing mentality, if the rentanjutsu array would create a philosopher's stone from the energy flow of the world, it seems like creating something that requires/uses such massive amounts of energy would still have some kind of negative effect, whether it be on the people within the array or on the world itself.
Also I would assume the rentanjutsu philosopher's stone would give its users large amounts of power just like the red stone.
It's pretty much a given when something like that is created theres going to be people who use it for self gain and all that, if Rentanjutsu is all about healing and from what I gathered Xing was a peaceful people, I don't think they would have the ambitions and motivations to create a way to make a power source such as the philosopher's stone.

On a side note, while I was looking over chap. 58 for the alchemy stuff, I saw the pages about Mustang training alchemy under Hawkeye-sensee.
It got me wondering what that's all about, I don't remember anything else about that situation except for in that chapter.
So Hawkeye-sensee had some secret to a great power to be gained through alchemy, and the secret is on Riza's back, which in turn was burned by Mustang because she didn't want it being used.
Maybe I just don't remember (I have a bad memory!) if this stuff was talked about in any earlier chapters that I read a long time ago, is there any information or theories on what it is thats written on Riza's back?

I went to another forum, and they pointed out something interesting :
Hohenheim has been travelling for who knows how many years, probably all around the country (Ed and Al couldn't locate him when they tried to (when Trisha was sick), so we can guess he was never staying at the same place for long), and occasionally releasing souls in apparently random places (we see him doing that once). What if he were trying to make the Rentan circle ?
Being the one who brought Rentanjutsu to Xing, he certainly has all the knowledge he needs to do that.
And this could be why he left his home : he learned about Father's plans, and decided to stop him. Plus, he told Pinako to leave the country because something bad was about to happen. Maybe he fears he won't have time to complete the circle ?
And if does complete it, he could use the souls he's released or his own powers as a Stone to activate it.
I know he's been gone for thirteen years or something, so we can wonder why he isn't done yet, but still...
Lainemaa

Interesting. Definitely interesting. Maybe there's something else involved in addition to releasing the souls, after all Father's circle for some reason demands that tunnel Sloth's been digging. Would he need to mark the circle somehow? Or disguise what's he's doing from Father?
Dammit, new theories just keep popping up. And it's still weeks until the next chapter.

Wouldn't it be cool if Hoho was the one to activate the Rendanshu circle, using up the rest of the Philosopher's stone's souls, and thus dies with this act? Eh?
On another totally random note, in Chapter 40, the first page, did anyone else notice that in the frame where Ed is talking to the conductor, May Chang is standing in the background? Is that supposed to be a hint at the time? I thought she was already in Central by this time...?

I'd be willing to bet that HoHo is going to die in the end. I think Mustang's group has already been weeded after having Hughes die, Havoc paralyzed (though I hopehopehope he gets healed at some point) and most of the rest shipped off to wherever. Though it is always possibe that Falman is going to die in the coming mayhem at Briggs when Kimbley gets there. Arakawa couldn't possibly kill either Mustang himself or Hawkeye, they need to get hitched first. Marcoh might die, Ling might die, Scar might die. Maybe either of the Armstrongs will die. Mai's propably safe, a cute little girl wouldn't be killed again. I think Izumi and her husband are propably safe too.

Scar and Marcoh, yes. Although Marcoh's been saying/told that dying won't be enough to atone for his sins so... Maybe he'll have to live with the guilt...
Hawkeye and Mustang should be safe... So many people want to see them together ! Arakawa certainly knows it. Killing one of them would just be downright cruel. Same goes for Ed and Winry. And Al, too. I mean, they've gone through so much, stop hurting the poor kids already !
Izumi and her husband... I don't know... I don't see Sig dying though...
And Hohenheim... Don't know either. I guess he'd die if he let go of all the souls he's carrying (his body is a few hundred years old after all) but... I really don't know. It wouldn't be a real surprise if he did die though.

Yeah, but Izumi is a pretty important character, and Sig's death would be jarring, and take her development to a whole new level. Hawkeye... eh, I've worried about her since her encounter with Pride. I'm on the fence about whether she'll live or die.
I don't want to see her die, though, I want her and Mustang to end together happily!
And although I think the end to FMA will be relatively pleasing for us fans, I think we'll also be in for some angst.
You know... Arakawa did say she gave the writers of the anime the original ending... if we take for granted that her original ending was either 1) for the boys to be separated or 2) for them to be together but separated from the ones they love, then I think it's not too much of a stretch to assume something terribly sad may happen in the manga ending.

I could see Hawkeye dying....I got kinda worried that she was going to be killed when Gluttony attacked her that one time she was sniping in the tower for the plan to capture a homonculus
And as much as I want everyone to live and everyone to be happy, I really need to see some character death before it ends.
When there are storylines like FMA with so much danger and powerful murderous characters, if all of the characters come out unscathed in the end and alive, it just takes away from the story for me, makes it unrealistic. I need death please.

The fact that their actions had such major reprecussions was the point of the story to begin with; and them coming to terms with the things that happened while living with the consequences made for a fitting ending. :)

That's really interesting, but they discover the Retan circle in Scar's brother's notes and the array is a mixture of eastern and western alchemies. The array seems pretty complicated for Scar's brother to create from just reading books so I wonder...
Could Hoho have been in contact with him at any time? Maybe he was teaching him and they were working together to create the counter array?
Also that could be connected to the alchemy circle he had tattooed on his arms. That was also a mixture of the two alchemies. Maybe he was supposed to help activate the array too?
Of course that means that, other than the Retan circle, the only other source of the combined alchemies is Scar's arm. Unless Scar's brother didn't die... which means they both possess one half of a full alchemy circle... hmmmm...

I still worry about how many years Ed's just sacrificed.... What if he makes things right, but then dies young ? I don't even want to think about it. *shudders*

I don't think it that much time
even if it's 2 or 3 or even 10 years
the story will be long and over before that comes into effect, so we don't have to worry about it =)

Idea!
What if Ed does die? In, say, the second to last chapter? So the last chapter would be how everyone else lives on...?
And again, being the crazy EdxWin shipper that I am, what if he finally tells Winry that he loves her (XD) right before he goes off to fight in the "final battle", then promises he'll be back?
Ed: I'll come back. I promise.
Winry: Are you sure?
Ed: Have I ever broken a promise?
But he has, and she's painfully aware of it....??

I know, the main character can't die, but what if that happened?
As for Hoho, yeah, I'm betting he sacrifices himself and dies.

If either of those brothers die I would be crushed. But if Arakawa were to kill a major character besides the Bros. I would lean on it being either Hawkeye or Mustang. As bad as I want them together I don't see it ever happening. They're like Mulder and Scully... unrequited love. *sigh*

I think either Ed or Al would be more likely casualty than either Mustang or Hawkeye. JUst one of the brothers, so that the other would stay behind crying. There's no way Arakawa would kill either Mustang or Hawkeye, just no way. I hope.
Syolen
11-24-2007, 10:22 PM
I agree with Pansori. If one of the major character dies, it'll probably be Mustang or Hawkeye. Not that I want that to happen, either.
By the way, Mustang wants to become the Fuhrer, but isn't that too big a dream ? I mean, he's a colonel. He's still far from the top. When Father's defeated and Wrath disappears, the only way he could win against all the greedy generals would be with the support of the population. But to gain it, he'd have to tell them what he's done, about Father and the Homonculi (because you don't support a young colonel just like that, no matter how good-looking he is), which I highly doubt will happen.
So how can he make it to the top ?
Nickmogo
11-24-2007, 10:30 PM
Well most likely when/if Father is defeated, all of the corrupt generals that are working under Wrath will be removed from their positions, and Mustang who I'm sure will have a big part in the defeat of the enemy will be considered a military hero. Military heroes always have a lot of political pull. Adding that to his already good skill at diplomacy and political savvy, he has a good chance to be the successor to Fuhrer after this whole ordeal is over.
Plus he'll have the recommendation of a lot of military and civilian people. Add up all of his and the Elric brothers allies in and out of the military and he'll have a decent group of supporters.

Nickmogo
11-29-2007, 02:57 AM
where is it?
Master_Elric
11-29-2007, 02:59 AM
oops, i used another by accident, anyway
I dont think that father is making this huge transmutaion circle to make a philosipher's stone. As weird as it sounds, hear me out: father is actually making a human transmutation circle to transmute himself to go to the gate. Now here is my speculation.
I was thinking about gluttony and pride, how they are expirimentaions by father to recreate the doors of truth. well, i was thinking 'why the hell did father do that? well, i think that he is somehow trying to open the gate by transmuting himself. Because he does not have a natural and single soul, i dont think he can open the gate, but he is somehow trying to transmute himslef my sacrificing everyone else to form a single soul for him to use to get into the gate.
Now WHY would he want to do that. I was pondering upon this paradox deep into my nighly slumbers in which time i had come to a conclution, FATHER WANTS TO BECOME A GOD, or god-like in any words. Remember, someone might have posted this and this is my first post so please dont critisize.
Nickmogo
11-29-2007, 03:12 AM
Yeah I've actually read about this theory before others places.
But yeah, this is definitely an option for what he's trying to do. But the way I heard it he actually is still planning to create a huge philosoper's stone with the circle, and then use the philosoper's stone as a tool/payment to get through the gates. And that his main goal is to get through the gate and observe the "whole truth"
Not sure exactly how seeing the whole truth makes him a God-like, but yeah.

ok, just a brisk change of pace for a moment, do any of you know about the FMA game created by Ocean X, a chinese bunch of college FMA fanboys called FMA: the BlueBird's Illusion? Well, it's about Ed and Al after the manga's initial ending when ed becomes a general and Al is back to normal. Well, this game is extremely rare and do to copyright issues because this game was not official, only 100 copies are in existence. Well if you look at my avatar, you will see a picture of ed in envy cloths and as a homunculus. IN the end of FMA:BBI, ed commits suicide after Al and roy die to save him and father(who is hohenhiem) brings him back to life(even though homunculi are not made this way int he manga) into the homunculus Pride. This is an extremely sad ending, but the game has 4 endings, 2 of them are sad. Just as i was wondering where to download this game for free on an iligal site, i thought of another therory! If ed dies, like many people here have complained about, he copuld come back as a homunculus. Technically, he will be alive(with a lack of a betterr word...lets try "he will exist') but i personally would not want to see ed as a homunculus, too sad.
Master_Elric
11-29-2007, 03:25 AM
Oh and for you people who want to know the other sad ending, ed sacrifices his sanity and mind to bring al back to life after envy kills him and ed ends up in a vegatative state. He cant speak or move but he just stares blanky ahead. Al the while, al talks to him hoping he will get better. When i saw the picture of ed staring blanky ahead, it brought a tear to my eye(and im a guy, so i admit, im a pussy)
Oh and the story of the game is ed has brought al back , but al's body is incomplete and is dissapearing so ed works together with envy to help al.
Oh the other two endings is when Al dies and Ed continues life as a general, but he is always crying and he becomes a total wimp and he commits suicide at the end.
The last ending is ed loses the title of "fullmetal Alchemist" and becomes the "tea Alchemist" so he serves tea to Mustang who is the fuhrur and Al is alive.

Hey Did you guys know that a group of FMA fanboys made an unofficaial game called FMA: the BlueBird's illusion for the PC but it was cut in distribution due to copyright infringment. The gamecreators claim to have hacked Hiromu Arakawa's computer files and took all the info and future character designs from her. They made a game based on the ending of the FMA manga and after the ending. Although Hiromu arakawa has told us that these accusations are false, lets not just put them aside yet HERS MY POINT:
IN the game, Ed and al are back to life and ed is stil in the military( and he wears military cloths whcch look better than his red trench coat by the way) and al;s body begins to dissapear. Ed seeks out the homunculi to help. Well, in one of the 4 different endings, Roy and Al die protecting Ed while ed fights envy, and Ed, heartbroken, commits suicide. Father(who is hohenhiem) brings ed back to life into a homunculus(even though homunculi are not born this way in the manga) and gives him the name Pride. Ed loses all his memories and him and envy become FRIENDS!?!?!?!?!
(also a little sad, ed's eyes go totally blank with no pupil and gives him the look like he has no soul)
I was thiknking about this and what if ed dies, but then turns into a homunculus? It hasnt been proven that homunculi cannot be born that way, so if ed dies, he will still be alive(lack of a better term...lets say' he will exist')
Master_Elric
11-29-2007, 03:43 AM
also, here are the other endings:
1) ed commits suicide and becomes Pride
2) Al dies by Envy and Ed continues life as a broken person, he becomes feeble and a wussie and later dies on a cocaine overdose( he turns to drugs to hide his sorrow)
3)he drops the Title of "Fullmetal Alchemist" and becomes the "Tea Alchemist" who serves tea to the furher who is Roy.(only ending which isnt sad)
and an ending which is very haertwwarming and tearjerking:
4) Al lives but Roy dies(i think) but ed sacrificed his sanity and his mind to reverse Envy's attack on Al so ed is in a Vegetative state. He cannot move, speak, make expressions, and cannot come to terms with his surroundings( no offence to anyone, but he is like a mental retard and not saying it to be funny). Al continues to talk to him hoping he will get better but he neverr will, and the look on ed's eyes is just so sad when al talks to him that a single tear flowed down my cheeks when i saw it(im a guy so i guess u think im a total wussie)
*just a note #2 might not be accurate, i only have heard of this ending, i have not played it fully.

Excluding the second post you put, which are obvsiouly jokes
But the first one is still completely ludicrous haha
I find it super unlikely that Ed would ever commit suicide, and ever more unlikely that Hoho would bring his son back as a monster homonculous.
That is some of the worst storytelling I have ever heard and theres no way that's a real ending stolen from Arakawa!

Bluebird Illusion is fan made game, therefore any story behind the game = As lame as any speculation from fanfiction can be.
Say, even the hacked thing is true, so what?, Arakawa can easily change the ending as she please since he's the author, and from what we've been reading now, the manga clearly doesn't match up with anime anymore, even less some lame fanfiction made up story.
Besides, shouldn't those guy be arrested for using Arakawa rights of FMA characters to make their lame *** game?
Edit: The opening song is from Ayumi Hamasaki, and I doubt that they even asked for some permission to use it into their game, I can't believe how low these college students' piracy act can go....

Just for fun, I was thinking of some ways that the final battle would play out in FMA and This is what I think will happen:
1) I am almost positive that Hoho will be the one to square off with Father. Ed will be next to useless becuase his alchemy won't have any effect on him, but I think that Hoho will sacrifice himself to kill Father, but maybe father survives that and he finishes his mission to go into the gate. If you read my earlier post, you would know my theory about father wanting to become a god. Well, i just thought maybe father want's to take truth's place in the gate to become a god, because the truth is evidently a god. But then as he overtakes the truth, Ed, who pulls back Al's soul somehow, will disrupt or destroy the transmutation circle so that father cannot get back, and then he is trapped there for eternity or something ( i know it sounds ludicrious but I just had to get it out )
On a happierr note, I know everyone wants Havok to recover, and I think it will happen. Maybe Mai Chang will use Xingese(is it pronounced Shin or Zing? I've heard people use both i use shin) alchemy to heal him.
Nickmogo
11-30-2007, 03:05 AM
The way you word it you make it sound like "Truth" is a tangible being, that may be so, but I think the "Truth" is more an abstract thing that can be viewed or learned, not somehting to be defeated or conquered.
And even though I do want Havoc to recover, I don't think Mei is a miracle healer, I don't think she can cure something as huge as paralysis or a destroyed spine
wildstriker
11-30-2007, 05:40 AM
Problem is...., Havok isn't really injured, but part of his *** (which needed to move your leg, but not bone) have been paralyzed, there aren't any person which is capable of restore internal organ/inside parts so far. Though, maybe Father or Hohenheim are capable to pull off such feat.
Nickmogo
11-30-2007, 05:53 AM
Part of his ***??
Havok is injured....his spine is injured, thats how you get paralyzed.
Master_Elric
11-30-2007, 12:42 PM
lol, his ***? Yeah, i agree with Nickmogo, your spine contains your nerve cells and whatnot that connrol the metabolosm and movement of your body. your spine contains your central nervous system and range up to five thousand Newtons in some people for some activities. This approaches half the weight of some small cars! The spine is anatomically complex and its size and structure changes from one part of the body to the next. The corresponding kinematics (motion) allowed by the spine varies greatly depending on the region of the body of interest.
(just thought you's like to know:-)
xingese_alchemist
12-01-2007, 01:53 AM
Um... are you sure newtons is the right unit for what you're describing? I think you're referring to frequency, like how many impulses the nerves send per minute/second/time unit? Unless I'm reading what you're saying the wrong way.
Anyways, your idea about Havok possibly being healed through Xingese (btw, if "xing" is based on chinese pin yin, "shing" would be correct way to say it) is really valid. We've seen the comedic effects on Marcoh's body, as well as Mei's extensive knowledge of Rentanjutsu (that is xingese alchemy, right?). For her to heal Havok is possible and a viable solution to his predicament. If not the subject of an entire chapter, should Arakawa need to fill a month's worth of a chapter >.>

Oh whow, I've missed a lot of things...
So uh... I think Hohenheim will be the one to destroy Father too. With this weird link between them ("you help me to make myself a body that looks just like you (how comes he looks just like Hoho, by the way ?), I make you immortal."), it'd be logical.
Will Havoc recover ? I want him to ! Besides, all of Mustang's team's waiting for him. So yes, I want him to heal, but I really don't know if he will. Because Arakawa has a knack of letting us hope, and then shattering our illusions (Nina, Hughes, the truth about the Stone, Lieutenant Ross forced to go into exile,...)...
Oops, I almost forgot ! Chapter 78, D-11. There you go, people ! :D
Master_Elric
12-02-2007, 06:37 PM
Hey, just got a new idea about FMA!!!! so anyway, i was rereading chapter 74 or 75, i forgot which ( the one with Homunculus taking the form of Hohenhiem) and I was just glancing when I discovered something of mild interest. Homunculus was saying(and i quote)" it must be very inconveniant for you humans because you have to breed to survive". At that, Hohenhiem said, " No, we get happiness from family and friends." Then Hohenhiem mentions something sbout having his own wife and a kid. Now that It had my attention, i was pondering 'did this kid die in the Xeres transmutation, or did he survive somehow?' Now, wouldn't it be interesting is Hohenhiem's son is still alive? I think i know a way that he can be alive.
Hohenhiem and Father share blood and father always comments that the reason that Hohenhiem didn't get his soul sucked out ( besides being at the middle of the transmutation circle) was that Hohenhiem and him share the blood that bonds them. Well, shouldn't Hohenhiem's son have a blood conection too? What if he was immune to it? That is the first part of my theory.
This is part 2: In the officail guidbook of FMA, there is a timeline(http://www.zomgfta.com/ go to projects and then manga timeline) that shows that Father created Pride before recorded history. This also applies to lust. In this setting, Father and HoHo are before recorded time. What if the blood connnction between Hoho and his son caused Hoho's son to absorb a few souls himself, officially making him a homunculus? I know this sounds ludicrous but i think that is how pride was created. Lust might have been hohenhiem's original wife, but i doubt it considering that just was made after pride when (if she was hohenhiem's wife) she should have been created at teh same time. also, hoho's wife might not have a direct blood relationship anyway, making her invalid. I just hope that Arakawa makes something good for the REAL creation of pride, if my theory is wrong.

Waaaagh, huge misundersanding here!
