byakuya was sent to bring the shinigami back to soul society and he also helped renji and rukia to escape to heuco mundo. last i saw of kon he was laying on ichigos bed when yuzu was looking for him... (quite a few chapters ago)

maybe kubo should change the name of bleach to rescue heroes! lol! but i like rescue missions. i think thats wat makes bleach interesting. but next time one of their nakama gets kidnapped they should bring kon along with them for the rescue mission

seriously.. someone needs to die... like no one ever dies in this kind of manga; they just get seriously hurt and then they're fine again cause of all the healers or whatever. it's almost kind of irritating.
and yeah... not featuring Kon has been a sort of bonus for me, since i hated him in the first place >.>
Byakuya was so much cooler... they should have more byakuya x.x

I'm kind of disappointed with kon, when he first showed up he was a really interesting character with lots of interesting story possibilities and a cool power of his own , but he has been turned into nothing more than a mascot character what a waist ichigo doesn't even need him around any more

I'm kind of behind on the manga, only on chapter 70 something, so can anyone tell me if the hollow mask that appeared on ichigo's face is used more. We got Byakuya now hes about to go wild on some numbered espada, hes even bringing out the moves he learned from Yourichi, but i don't think we should see more of him though just when the enemy gets tough and stuff otherwise he'll probably lose his almighty status

I agree with everyone else, that what Bleach needs right now is a character death. A death is long overdue. So far, almost every major character should have died once over. My main problem with Bleach is that not only does Kubo kill off these piddly little guys, but he only kills off the baddies!

Of the good guys that he did kill off (Kaien, The Council, even Ichigo's mom) we never got the chance to know them. They were dead before they even came on the scene, and what little we saw was through flashbacks.

That being said, I was disappointed that he did away with Luppi. That little jerk had so much personality. I wanted to see him come back and demolish Hitsugaya as he promised. Plus I really liked his character design.

So for expendable characters I'll put my vote in for Chad (among the high schoolers) and Foxhead (among SS). I think Chad's death would be motivation for Ichigo to be out for blood while Foxhead's is sufficient enough to drive Tousen back into the light.

As to what the OP stated (so long ago), if there was more Kon I don't think I would read the manga.

I think we need less *** kicking and more continuation of the plot. The more fights there are, the less we get to find out about other more important things... Gin and Urahara's intentions, Aizen's plans, this King thing, what's the deal with Ishida and Ichigo's fathers, etc etc. Bleach has a habit of getting bogged down in fights.

Yes, the fights have been disappointing. One of the things that first attracted me to Bleach was that I thought Kubo did a good job with the fight scenes. I think my biggest disappointment has been the Renji/Ishida/Granz fight. I know I've said this a million times, but I think that fight could have been a good one.

Instead Kubo did a really bad job of not focusing on it, and cutting away for months at a time; which did not help people keep interest in a fight that didn't have much interest to begin with.

But I am looking forward to these next fights, especially Mayuri's.

Once that's done, though, I think we need some more storytelling and explaining. :D
