Both Bleach a DBZ are awesome but as they went on /or are going on/ somewhere in the middle they started do jump the shark a lot. You know Ichigo is immortal now and Goku had become a furry god /lol/ in GT. But why did they do this I ask you? Does anyone have a logical explanation for that.

i don´t like the power ups in bleach. Everytime one is about to die he/she gets "suddenly" stronger. It gets on my nerves, every single time. I don´t get it, naturally fans like their favorite character to stay alive but if no one dies (in a fight manga) it gets a bit boring in my opinion...

No they didn`t get suddenly stronger. After each battle people get stronger and are more exp. then before. Thats natural but Luffy can`t destroy the world by farting like Goku and is not immortal like Ichigo /yeah we know he will survive but thats goes for all the shonen jump heros/. And how many times got Luffy and his namaka their asses kicked, a lot and they won by fighting harder and not by a power up. What power did Luffy use to defeat Crocodile /he lost to him 2 times before/ ohhh yeah he used his own blood what a power up. In the Cp9 saga he learned a 2 new skills and lost with the skills to the Cp9 leader and won by enduring the beating and fought back wow again what a power up /this reminds me of the original DB there Goku had to endure and then strike back/.

Pikachu will remain weak even if you reach level 100. Meh.

But pokemon really needs power ups,

Most unnecessary power up of all is SSJ4 Gogeta. The fusion of Goku and Vegeta. That fusion isn't supposed to be allowed. One is SSJ4 Goku is strong already. Second, Vegeta is the partner. Isn't that uber enough?

You can't beat shounens when it comes to random power ups. Out of all the randomness, I'm gonna go with Bleach. At least for things like haki, nine tails, super sayian, you could see it coming. I however had no idea/really didn't want Ichigo to grow long hair, go berserk and turn into a cow.

And didn't you know, all of the protagonist's pokemon in pokemon are capped at lvl 10, lvl 9 for pikachu :/ (I mean how is this thing not lvl 100 yet >.>)

The anime Pokemon is now made of nothing but flaw and lame. Over 500 episodes and he's not a master yet or caught anywhere near 100 different pokemon. I suggest Ash cut his wrists and be done with it as he is an Epic Fail as a trainer and a man. All those cute girls they throw his way and all he can think about is playing with his pokeballs.

I'd have to say personally I only hate the lvl 4's and Allen's arm turning into a sword. It was badass when it was extending claws and cape but the sword was to much. Still love to read it though.

well to be honest DB is not that bad about power up since a stronger enemy will come after they beat the current enemy I think in Cell arc everything still goin smoothly cus well even SS Goku, Trunks and Vegeta get their butt kicked by Cell and then Gohan turn into SS2, it's still good at this point because well since he was small Gohan already shown some unnatural hidden power within him so it's still make a sense the problem started at Buu arc (BTW I'm talking about the manga alone NOT the anime) it's like they just keep gettin stronger in no time SS3 is fail, Super Gohan is fail, Fusion is just too forceful but entertaining though, the Fusion earring is stupid and All the power up in GT is stupid too but it's not like I don't understand kind of power-up like that is needed in order for the story to go on

And Bleach well I'm not sure about this one but in Bleach all the hard training seems fruitless and work only for one enemy cuz Ichigo will get his butt kicked almost immediately by new enemy (he looks like cockroach when he face the Espada for the first time) and I think Bleach has the most complex power meter cuz each character always has something on their sleeve so I'm not sure who is stronger than who in Bleach

And time skip is the best excuse but well I think in Naruto training only work for Naruto himself while everyone is just too genius to train or still weak even though they train so hard

well you have to take in account the fact that ichigo technically started fighting while the other characters have had a logn history of fighting. plus when ichigo went to save rukie at soul society he actually put up a fight and one of the strongest cpatains recognized ichigos amazing fighting skills plus he beat up a ocuple lieutenants. wehn there are saga fights ichigo puts a up an awsome fight.

For the record that was DBGT and was not original work. Basically GT was anime producers asking themselves, "What can we pull out of the great Asshat of Idiocracy to run a great series into the ground, gain a profit, and give more weak minded children seizures because I don't think we've given them enough red, white, blue, and yellow flashing lights after all these years. But hey at least we teach the children to have faith in old shiny balls because they can grant wishes and that planets are hot when they explode in your face". That's why I still shout at Santa in the mall for gifts and stay away from magma. I have to shout, Santa is old and can't hear very well when I scream at his lap for a magical dragon to appear. I think that subtle but huge powerup for regular bankai Ichigo to fight on par with unreleased Ulquiorra was the most unforgivable thing in the world.

At least the full hollow thing made sense (although it was a major cop-out). Bankai Ichigo losing to unreleased Grimmjow goes to him all of the sudden fighting on par with Ulquiorra. That's just the biggest piece of crap ever.

Actually it's more of a YYH than DB thing. Watch the Yusuke vs Sensui on Youtube, even the "this is not how I wanted our fight to end" part was copied from YYH.

And DB GT doesn't count IMO. The producers just wanted to cash in more money. If you were to count, count up to Cell's arc in DB. Toriyama was forced to continue DB due to popularity, and he was pretty stress out by Frieza arc already. The stress level he recieved due to DB made him draw one shots (one chapter manga) nowadays.

But back to topic, I say Bleach wins. At least in DB, it's original, and it was entertaining (kept me on the edge of my seat), where as Bleach ... let's just say it total fails to entertain me in every way possible (story, plot, theme, twists, characters, fights). I just hope there won't be any more trash talks in Bleach, that really ticks me off (the "What's your name?" "No I won't tell you." trash talks. I just can't find a fight where Kubo doesn't do that)

Fought Ulquiorra again got a big hole in his chest and died, He heard a certain voice and wow HUGE Power Up and he defeated Ulquiorra in his SECOND released form when he couldn't even touch him unreleased a little while ago...(HUGE POWER-UP)

Now he is going to go face Aizen......
So we can expect more power ups

All of his fights were close and he goes right away and defeats someone stronger when he barely defeated someone weaker.....

You also sort of forget that Ichigo is carrying around a huge sword on his back almost on a nightly basis. Even without the power ups and bankai techniques, all it would take for a massive improvement of Ichigo's speed would have to be getting a smaller lighter sword. How is using a lighter sword random? In fact, each sword upgrade is consistent with simply losing a load of weight.

You just contradicting your self. First you say heavier swords help train then you say Light swords... Ichigo has been on Bankai mode since I think the fight against the Privaron Espada. Speed is not much. Grimmjow was faster yet he lost. Stark was faster too and he lost to a Shikai...

I don't get why people continue to screw this up. He didn't use haki at all; he just used simple logic! All of his attacks are melee-based, he's as susceptible to cutting attacks as anyone else, and he's already seen what Mihawk could do first-hand. He simply realized that, if he attacked, Mihawk could dodge and attack his outstretched arm, chopping it off. All Luffy's used Haki for as of now is knocking out fodder characters.

Nothing beats the first time Buu split, recombined and became stronger than Buu. Except possibly when Buu loses all his Buu powerups to become stronger than Buu.

The DB powerups aren't really random, they have a specific purpose and a specific reason they are activated, sometimes rage for some characters, and other times fusion. The characters become stronger to match the power of the opponents. This is the case in Bleach, except unlike in DB the hero barely beats one guy and then ascends to a random new power level. It might have made sense Ichigo becoming Hollow Ichigo and beating Ulquiorra, but using the hollow powers that quickly? Seems a bit fast in my eyes. In Dragonball even though there were huge gaps in power stages, the Super Saiyan state took time to get from one to the next.

I can only really point to Dragon Ball... or rather said Dragon Ball Z. I mean in DB Goku increased his power to 260 ,level at which you could pretty much destroy a whole city with one energy blast, but in DBZ he got up to 450,000,000.... the author could just have kept the power levels lower.

Def. dragonball. When Goku turned ssj it was a special moment because he was the first person to achieve such a goal in over 5000 years. It was a great accomplishment. What happened after the first person in 5k years achieved ssj? Gohan, Vegeta, Goten, and Trunks(young) all achieve ssj soon after. It was a buzzkill for me. The manga/anime portrayed goku turning ssj as something that almost never happens, yet after goku acheived it everybody else followed suit. Also, the stages were kind of ridiculous, too.

You should read supreme power then Wingman then. It had a very good explanation as to why when a person is the first to come out as super powered; it comes down to mathematics when the rest would follow suit. Meaning; after the Marvel universe equivalent of Superman has shown himself to the world; other super powered individuals then began showing their faces too.

Other than that, it's understandable for gohan to go super saiyan since he's goku son. Vegeta seemed also good because i believe it comes down to genetics as the last generations of saiyans it would be accessible to them.

Heck, that's how homo sapaiens passed the Neanderthals because as a species we all have the same brain processing power that made them obsolete. It's not a big logic jump.

As for the most random power up. It has to bleach with ichigo. made me almost stop reading it. It's that i like aizen too much to put it down.

For the record, I LOVE dbz. It got me into manga/anime and it will always have a spot among the series I consider classics. I just thought they should have made the ssj transformation a special thing by spacing the transformations out and have them transform under extreme circumstances. Look at the first two transformations. Goku was majorly pissed off the entire time he was on namek. When freiza killed krillin goku let out all of his pent up anger. Next, look at vegeta. This was another justified transformation. He was extremely frustrated at his inability to surpass goku, plus he was caught in a storm that almost killed him. His life was on the line and he was frustrated. He was very angry at himself for not being able to last in the storm and transformed out of anger. Both goku and vegeta were in life threatining situations and both experienced extreme anger.

I'm sorry bot both Gohan and Goten were handed ssj transformations like it were candy. With gohan, I have less problems with because he did imagine a situation in which it would be justified, but I would have liked him to have experience something like goku and vegeta did. Goten's transformation was bullshit. Sparring with chi-chi made him transform? Really?

So in summary I was complaining about the transformations appearing in rapid fire fashion. I also don't like the conditions that half of them experienced before transforming.

You got to remember that everything after Volume 42 of DBZ is what Akira was pressured to do so. He was so caught in it's popularity that the ideas came out flat for everything that came out of the cell saga. At some of the execution came out good. I particularly liked when Gohan fought Buu but that's just me.

Anyways, even then; it spaced out quite a bit but yeah; that was bull how kid trunks (btw what the hell a name is trunks?) and goten got their power.

@Ruggia: Idk, AFAIK to transform into a ssj you need to have a power level of 100,000 and experience extreme anger and/or sadness. Could Gohan really summon that much emotion just by thinking of a "What if" situation? Like I said, I think those emotions would be hard to produce without actually experiencing it. Look at goku and vegeta. Both transformed when the anger they had built up was released by a trigger. Gohan imagined goku getting killed by freiza and transformed shortly after. My point is that compared to goku and vegeta's circumstances gohan's transformation seemed weak to me.
