Beck

[UPR]

Tanaka Yukio, better known by his nickname Koyuki is a 14 year old who feels disconnected from life in general. Through the act of saving a mismatched dog, he meets guitarist Minami Ryuusuke, and becomes involved in Ryuusuke's new band BECK. Koyuki's life starts to change as the band struggles towards fame.

didn't see it here so i took the intiative for a great manga.

Beck is a great manga, i love it. I've watched the anime as well. Wish they would make it faster though but the next chapter should be out soon. I also have some of the music from the anime on my ipod, it's pretty sweet. my favorite songs are "moon on the water" and "Slip out". I would recommend this manga to anyone, it really inspires you and makes you think.

What do you think will happen at the Avalon festival? i hope theyt do well but i hope the writers don't rip off another version of the Grateful Sound type story(Beck are the underdogs but manage to win), I hope they do something different. One other thing, I hope Leon Skyes is dead, I hate his guts. It's good to see another BECk fan here, later.

I agree with you White_Lightning, I really hope that it will not be like the concert at Greatful Sound because I just don’t think it will be possible to do again. But I secretly hope Beck gets a break, they are truly are cursed! I really hope Chiba and Yukio reconcile. Leon Skyes, I have mixed feelings about him, there is a reason why he is so heartless but at times I want him to die but others I am with him, a man gots to get his hustle on!

You know i think Ryusuke needs to stop making bets with bad people. First it was Leon Sykes at Greatful Sound now its Mr Slater at Avalon...it'll just affect the band more.

I truly hope Koyuki and Chiba sort their differences out...coz it just wouldn't be Beck without either of them.

I really wanna read the other chapters after 87 but as far as i know they haven't been translated and i really wanna know what happens at the Avalon festival.

Ive been listening to nothing but Beck MCS music and honestly I love Hit In America. Also the one they call Sister on the manga. I havent been fallowing up on the anime but the manga has givin me more than i could ask for... accept one detail... NEXT BLOODY CHAPTER x3.

I like the fact that you can tell the manga-ka is passionate about music and its reflected nicely in the manga.

I have the whole of the sound track d/loaded onto my MP3 player...my fave 3 songs are: Brainstorm(BIG MUFF), Spice of Life and Like a Foojin.

I so want the next chapters (chs 88-93)...must know whats happening....getting withdrawal symptons...need more Ryusuke and Taira...huff huff

hey, I agree with your guy's posts. However, I think Ryusuke has been a bit of a dick for a while. he's leaving the band, making bets and constantly getting mad. The band has always been tight (except for the rift between Chiba and Yukio) but he's been back and forth, personality wise. Also, didn't Koyuki and Chiba kind of reconcile when they had that converstation. Where's the next chapter? It should've been out by now!

The next chapters haven't been translated yet as far as i know....waiting for chapters 88-93.

I could understand the reasons for Ryusuke just up and leaving...the first time was so the rest of the band wouldn't be in trouble with Leon Sykes and the second time was grief over Eddie's death. This time round he's trying to help Koyuki because Leon wanted his full obedience....but still he shouldn't make bets on his own that will effect the band.

I think Chiba and Koyuki reached some sort of understanding but i think Chiba is starting to feel that he has no place in the band coz everyone talks about Koyuki being the singer...i hope Chiba doesn't leave the band coz he's just so great and he has respect for Koyuki but feeling a bit left out.

well making the bet was a foolish decision but you can't balme ryusuke for that, i think that it is the only way that they will manage to survive as a band and considering the situation now having ran being at the side of mr slater, this bet is likely to be the last if they can't pull out... the author seem to drag this band to were thier are so many enemies... but i do hope, really, that it is tthe time for them to shine... and as for chiba, well, they could just create a music similar to linkin park.. it's hard to balance two great vocal talents in one band...

Harold Sakuishi has nothing to do with it. The manga is still going. We're about 5 or 6 chapters behind right now. We're actually waiting for scans for Volume 30 of the manga, which is actually already been released.

I'd put Beck right up there with Bleach and Naruto since I also read both of them, I can compare all 3. Yes Naruto has been declining and BLeach goes up and down. But I tend to think many get put off by not actually being to hear the music. Seeing music and listen to it are 2 very different things. By just seeing the people in the manga go wild does necesarily mean it's to your taste, so they won't pick it up. I intially was hesitant to the manga for the same reason. Since people see the manga and get put off by it in turn the anime will suffer as well. Since many don't start it they don't continue it and just ignore the anime.

Beck is definitely one of the best current series right now. I love it! Man, the buildup is happening... the tension is building... I can't wait for Beck's performance! The T-minus 2 hours 'manga time' is killing me! LOL

As for the whole music in the anime vs manga thing - there's no comparison. I listen to the music in the anime and I never get moved or excited. But I read the manga and just IMAGINING what their songs must be like or what Koyuki's voice is like gives me chills in real life.

I just have to say I love this manga and I highly recommend it. I think the character developement is awesome. I watched the anime first and it left me craving more. Unfortanately the anime is nowhere near the same length of the manga QQ but still I recommend it aswell. There is some decent music in the series too, particularly Full Moon Sway. It had a bitter sweet melancholy melody that damn near chokes me up lol. <Prays to the manga gods for the next release> ^^

I'm not really sure that i liked how it turned out, but i'm glad i got to read Beck again after such a long time. hehe, unfortunately the series is almost over, oh well, its been great while it's lasted i hope the end is just as awesome as the rest of the series. It would suck if it was anti-climactic.
