How does this series inspire so much discussion. Anyways continue discussing the manga Hayate The Combat Butler in this thread.

Zero No Tsukaima... what's with the manga? it never moves... the anime is messy and needs at least one more season to finish off...

that's because Foolzrulez only started scanlating it nowadays and most likely it will be a regualr one , oh and there is a anime about ZnT , I have no time for that now since Shana is epic

oh as for HTCB's HIna well obviously she is the most moe of the two so she'll win

as for the latest Chapter did we see Nagi there ?

Well Shana is epic but ZnT anime is also great except that they removed many scenes from the Light Novels and they also changed some. I don't like the Manga of ZnT because they became very young.

Next chapter will focus on Nagi. That's what you want right?

Eh really? but I wanted to see more of Hina... somehow she's become my favourite character passing Maria...

She'll be back in chapter 110/chapter 3 of vol.11 you just have to wait.

She's got the experience to sell coffee. After all, she has done a lot of weird things (such as smuggle stuff). It's like how Hayate's got all this experience doing stuff unimaginable (like the mahjong bodyguard)

I've thought of a great poster idea!

Well I can color Manga but it really sucks.

I just don't like coloring stuffs and I'm not stuck just in GIF, making GIF is fun for me so I much like it than coloring a whole page of manga.....

Well I didn't say the English dubbed ones and you don't have another choice. You can download the episodes and burn it to a blank DVD or just watch it.

or buy another harddrive. they aren't that expensive (at least were i live) and you won't save much by using dvds. and 120 MB for good quality aren't that much. i streamed all the time not so long ago but then switched to downloading bacause i wanted t orewatch some series and it was a pain to find it again completely. everything has it's advantages and disatvantages just do what works for you. thats why i posted a link for both alternatives

I always use a download accelerator so it finishes after an hour.

Well half of HTCB are fanservice because they've totally changed the scenes and added more fanservice shots.

I wonder if there would be Shakugan no Shana III. I'm hoping for it because the story is really great.

The only thing I hate in Tora Dora is that they've changed the scenes from the light novel and added new ones.

Rewatching Hayate made me realize Nagi can be really smart at times (like the manhole cover problem) and then act completely dumb (with the special attacks)

Though what we're doing is totally legal because we're creating content that didn't exist before, as in noone who could not read japanese would have been able to read it without our help.
Add to that, the releaser of this manga would rather thank us for making it so crazily more popular than it would be if there were just those 85 chapters stagnating. We're free advertising for HTCB.

Still, staying with the breath on our necks is not going to change a thing, because the releases were called to slow down for a little time. You should go watch some anime meanwhile, something with Rie. There are a few less popular anime with Rie 8D!

Rie is a good seiyu (especially for some characters Nagi, Louise etc.) but I don't think we all watch HTCB because of her (I mean, come on, Hinagiku/Maria can pretty much keep the males watching at least :P)

Woxxy it's still illegal.

Scanlating is still illegal because its violating the copyright law. Even if you say to them that you're advertising HTCB. They can still file a case because

1.) No permission with the author.
2.) Violating the Copyright Law.
3.) Don't have a permission of the publisher
4.) Not a Copyright holder.

So there is a chance that a Lawyer will come to your door asking for a fine of $1,000,000.

You said 4 times the same thing, just changing the one who sues. Only one of them can actually sue, and it's the publisher, not even the author has real rights on his product.

Though, as I said, modifying in a certain proportion the quality of the product, and expecially not hitting their market (by publishing something that doesn't get bought by the same users), makes manga scanlating legal.
Also, depends on the laws of your own state, and if the manga was released in english (or whatever other language are you translating it into). We are not translating chapters that have been already translated.

Only case we could get sued, would be if we got people to pay for the manga. Though that won't happen, from here the definition of a certain word.

Yeah, I think they are encouraging us, scanlators, to keep scanlating
For example, if Naruto was like only in Japan and they didn't allow any modifications of it
And it just came to America (or wherever you live), it won't sell well, because no one, or not many, knows about it.

So, in a way, yes, the publishers are thankful to us, although it just means that we have spoiled everyone on what's happening in the future.
Probably the way they thank us is by not taking any action on our scanlations.

Really, if no one scanlated this awesome manga, and it was released in America (or the country you live in), just think how many people will pick it up or even buy it

Seriously, some of the anime episodes there shouldn't be missed, but there are also others that could be better off left for die-hard fans only

Yeah, some bits of Anime is good. But the magic dies aff after about 20 something episodes
I'm guessing Season 2 will be better as it's past Vol 10 (and past vol 14 to my knowledge)
Although some bits are mixed up (like the 5th or something chapter appearing at last few eps while a chapter in vol 13 showing at late ep 20s)
It's worth a try though. They put too much emphasis on Hayate being a butler than a naive boy in the anime though. But some arcs are REALLY worth not watching. That super intendant or something thingy...

Quite excellent!
Though, it's strange, looking at the first ranking (and the bits of the one posted here in chapter 200), Hinagiku doesn't have any success...She's like my favorite character of all. Even if Nagi x Hayate seems obvious, she's the best match for him (even better than Maria or Izumi...)
Damn, the end of the birthday was just perfect (though, Hayate is as naive as ever, hence didn't realised anything...)

Anyways about Nagi and Hayate, even though its a one sided love, i believe the story will go deeper into their relationship. Even though i've seen many people count out Nagi, i think she still has a chance.

She has a chance, but she's counted out for few reasons:

1) As you've mentioned, it's one sided love and she thinks he likes her and that they are Girlfriend/Boyfriend thing already

2) Hayate already had a relationship in the past (although he was only a Kindie) and he still misses her

3) Hinagiku (everyone's favourite other than Maria) is the most popular girl by the fans (yes, chapter 200 had Maria/Hinagiku on below 10th, but ask anyone in the forums and it would be either Hina or Maria). Usually, in any manga, the guy falls in love with the most popular girl in the school and the most popular girl in the school is Hinagiku. Hard to explain

4) HAYATE LIKES MARIA. Period. He thinks Nagi as his master, Isumi, Saki, Izumi, Miki etc as friends, Hinagiku, probably his best friend (Same with Maria). But he likes Maria and he always have since Vol 1. So, unless THE girl comes up to him and say hi, he likes Maria.

Hell with the polls it destroys the good story of a manga. Like what happened in Ichigo100% it ends with that girl just because of polls.

Many romance manga always have a guy/girl that is suited for each other
But, I suppose Hayate is different.
It's almost cruel. I can imagine Hayate with Hinagiku, Hayate with Nagi, Hayate with Maria, Hayate with Ayumu and Hayate with THE girl
And he has to end up with one...

I think that polls, in author's point of view, are not that bad, couse he is simply asking what majority of fans would like to see. But yeah, it may destroy the mood of the story, more if you actualy disagree with the majority. ;) I would love to see HayatexHina in the end, because chapters about Hina's birthday were sooo romantic(I would never expect such romantism from this manga), and the final of them at the tower just captured my heart... But, I feel the same as Treece, because I also like Maria, and I also would feel sorry for her.

Nagi X Hayate isn't really obvious
It's just that they are the main characters. Not lovers. Only feeling Hayate have towards Nagi is loyalty and gratefulness
If anything, it would be Hayate and the 'new' girl (not telling if you don't know. Her name is same as a Greek city) as they shared a past together.
So there is a chance that it could be Hayate X Hinagiku

Yeah, I know who you are talking about (lol, the name was said in the previous page to this post in the results of the poll in chapter 200), though I don't know how she looks like (only her back since we already saw it before)
Oh, and I didn't knew Hinagiku was so liked in the forums (since usually, the polls in the manga are pretty much reflecting the same intents as the forums).

And strange, even with this person you're talking about (though, I haven't saw her, so I don't know how much she will change everything), I don't see any other ending than Nagi for Hayate (well, at least, it would be the first original harem story in that case since it's always the first person we meet, and furthermore, it won't turn out to be a pedo relation since they are aging, and 3 years is like...nothing)

Oh...you can simply download it though, that's what I'm doing and all the torrents are still up and working properly (as well for the ddl)

Anyway, I began the anime (around episode 10 for now), and it's quite excellent!
Somehow, the references are more easy to see (there is still a lot, but you see more than the manga itself since the manga is more about quotes from other mangas while the anime can show cosplay and such...)
And well, so far, I quite like the anime (mostly because it's an anime intend quite for otaku)

There is this Urusai said 3 times (except from Shana, I don't know anyone else using it), and in the anime, there is a moment Nagi cosplay in Shana as well (and Ed from FMA).

Oh well, ther question, but for the anime, does it go further into the manga or is it only fillers (compared to the current release on OM I speak). Cause I just quickly looked at the episode 27 since I just downloaded it for looking at the second opening, and it appears there is a butler tournament, so I just wanted to know if it was next chapters or filler (and also will ****** appear in the anime?)

I think there's no main plot, because this manga doesn't need one. It is simply about random comedic situations and the role of the main plot is taken by growing relationships between characters.

Yay, chapter 107 is out, and we are done with the volume! Now we are approaching what I feel are the good parts of the manga!

This was a lot different from the anime episode, in terms of content and action. It's quite funny, and a bit cute, but there is very little Hayate action.

I like how Nagi denies the magazine (she will delete it from her mind forever :P)

Can't wait for new chapter!!

Main plot repaying Nagi, overcoming his bad luck, and finding a girlfriend. Some people are just unhappy and love to complain.
As far as the current chapter, it was cute. Nagi can never be left alone in the house for to long if it wants to remain standing. Love the cow in the background. Nagi going into Hayate's room was interesting as she looked adorable on the bed. Maria didn't believe that there was a ghost in Hayate's room. Tama better hid his fetish mags better.

It's a little kiddy show, but when I went to Asia, (I was like 14 back then) I loved it. So random and funny. Pity there's so much pink and it was for little young girls...

And yeah, ending for Samurai Champloo sucked, but I knew something like that would happen. There never was a reason for them to stick with the girl (I forgot her name. That's something unusual) from the beginning. Even if they made a rhetoric promise, I'm sure both of them weren't the type to agree and hold onto that promise

Yeah, the random helps a lot I agree...but I usually like when there is references here and there in a manga, and Hayate is full of it ^^ (somehow, makes me think of Sket Dance but even worse)
And just here, I laughed a lot in the anime since I watched the 18th episode (yeah, I'm slow), the one with the Summer Vacation, and the Beach trip with the school.
Lol, even without Hinagiku coming, there was stilleyeshot with her in bathing suit and such (and well, there was references to Code Geass, diverse horor films, and some other I'm not really sure about it, I spotted them, but can't say what it is...)

Oh, and I'm now liking more and more the blue hair girl in the student council (Hana-something), well, the one in Treece's avatar >.>
She somehow reminds me a lot of Hana-chan in Kemeko DX (but less perverted...but same hair, same eyes, and similar behavior >.<)

Oh, after watching more of the anime, I finally saw where Treece's avatar comes from (as well as an old avatar of Deathknight with Hayate having a gun in the hand...)
lol, the anime is still making me laugh though, I never expected the Dark Butlers plot...each one fighting at the end of an episode (I only saw 2 so far), and seeing those rip-off from Yu-gi-Oh and Beyblade made me laugh a lot (having Hayate speaking to himself in a Yu-gi-oh art-style was priceless)

And I finally spotted a reference to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, took me long enough for seeing one of the best anime in here! (at the end of the Butler Tournament, it's one of the DVD that Nagi is waching if I remember)

There is still a reference of TTGL in HTCB just watch a few more episode and you'll see Gurren Lagaan.

Watanuki from xxxxHolic is also making an appearance in HTCB.

Hermoine appears in later episode wearing Belldandy's dress. Ah! My Goddess reference.

A black talking car also appears later. I wonder what anime is it from.

Nabeshin? I don't think I have, the name doesn't ring a bell at least.
Right now, I'm in episode 30, and even if there is some fillers here and there they are still funny (though Hayate still haven't used his special move Hayate no Gotoku...I hope to see it at a moment or another...)

Oh, and yeah, there is a lot more references, it's not like I spot everything (not remember them all after seeing it) but this time I was happy to see some TTGL (by the way, I saw a reference to TTGL in Hidamari Sketch as well, anime I just finished this week...there was plushies of Nia and Yoko ^^)

Oh yeah, I saw Nabeshi finally...He was just totally awesome (they even made the opening of the first season in his episode >.>)
Ah, and still continuing the anime, I really laugh at one of the Dark Butler. Well I had my guess on his identiy, but the moment he used a Geass for hipnotising Nagi, I was completly laughing!
And this whole cultural festival arc was really fun (they even made the place for the Comiket inside the Academy >.>), and full of references ^^
(Hayate eating...those thing in DragonBall for restoring your power...the whole cast of Yakitate-Japn selling bread, and various doujinshi with Shakugan no Shana, Dokuro-chan or Mar)
By the way Mar is quite often shown in the anime, with Dorothy appearing a lot, Babbo as well( even in his "human" form...), and tere was even some yaoi with Alviss and a character I didn't recognised ^^

Also, Klaus IS Nagi's butler, right? why the heck is he never around except when he randomly pops up... also it said he's 80 kg so he's MUCH heavier than just about any other humans we've seen in the show (by a good 50 pounds)

Klaus is indeed the Chief Butler but barely never appear (sometimes here and there with Tama >.>)
And yeah DK, I haven't seen the episode yet but it's episode 38 (I watched 37 yesterday, and I recognised him in the preview, that was easy...even his voice is the same!)

For the Butler's tournament, I laughed when Klaus and Tama joined (but the fight never happened for some reason >.>)

Ah....i finally saw it...the episode with Viral's apparition.
And damn, I loved it, the whole next episode was just a complete reference to TTGL!
Be it the apparition of Vial, Gurren Lagann piloted by Shion, the symbol of the dai Gurren on the door, the images for the advertisements in the middle being rip-off from those in TTGL, and just the overall animation (it wasn't as good as Gainax's work, but damn, you could find a bit of the awesomeness of TTGL)
Ah, I loved this episode (and now, I'll have to watch once again the best anime I know >.<)

Oh, and I spoted some ther references again, like on the christmas tree, pluhies of Mokona (from the Clamp series) and the bird of Hibari in Katekyou Hitman Reborn.
Oh and well, the butler suit turned out to be the gold armor in Saint Saiya (though there was already references before)
and I couldn't stop laughing when Hayate was making a race against K2000, the car who can speak ^^
(there was also a reference to Rozen Maiden but I dn't remember where...)

Aoyama Gosho is the author of Detective Conan. And I agree! That chapter rocked. The Nishizawa x Hayate scene was cool, even though though I prefer Hinagiku. The suspicious criminal and the SANTA CONAN was hilarious!

You read the same line several times so that it's not funny anymore
Plus, it's WAY better to read it in Korean and any other Asian languages
Mostly due to the fact that there is more clear difference between a formal, informal and offensive way of speaking.

Also, looks like we have to release a HQ of this... wolf didn't edit it properly...
