I noticed there wasn't a topic for SDK o_o

It is 1604, four years after the Battle of Sekigahara, perhaps Japan's greatest civil war. The people try to recover from its aftermath and enjoy the newly attained peace. Amid such times Yuya Shiina, a roughneck girl who earns money by capturing outlaws, mistakes a roaming and peace-loving medicine seller Mibu Kyoshiro for the legendary wanted man "Onime-no-Kyo." But she soon realizes that she is wrong when she sees that Kyoshiro is just a weakling. Nevertheless, she ends up capturing Kyoshiro anyway -- he is wanted for running off without paying for a meal. As they travel together Kyoshiro tries to help Yuya catch another wanted criminal. In the process Kyoshiro is cornered. Then he mumbles, "Here he comes," and the color of his eyes turn a deep red. He pulls out his sword which he had never touched before and suddenly, Onime-no-Kyo, the legendary assassin said to have killed one thousand men with this sword, is standing there. ~ animenfo.com

...I've only seen the anime, but at the ending, was it Kyoshiro or DE-Kyo that Yuya ran to? @.@'
they never showed the face and I couldn't tell by the voice alone....It drives me crazy! (!.!)

Have the entire volume of the manga in my bookshelf, one of the best manga ever.

The anime is a crap compared to the manga though, and totally opposite of what the manga plot stand for.

Ahh I hate that Mibu/ Kyoshiro is completely omitted from a huuuge chunk of the manga as he stays in DE Kyo-mode.

Why not make him stronger too or shift personalities more often? He just used as a shell for DE Kyo. :(

DE-Kyo would've been much cooler if they didn't milk him to come out for nearly every fight.

Actually, Kyoshiro is stronger than Kyo 'till almost the end of manga, but since Kyo is the main character and all there's basically no need for Kyoshiro to appear more often than he need to.

It was both Kyoshiro and Kyo at the end of the Anime. it was Kyoshiro's body and Kyo's eyes.
Im guessing they merged again like the were b4.

well im afraid i can only swear allegiance to kyoshiro along with my fellow fans..although kyo was pretty cool with his red demon eyes i still liked kyoshiro more with his calm, cool face with a quiet yet frightning power..they really shouldve brought kyoshiro out more and developed him along with the others..even as i was enjoying the manga i always thought something was kind of missing..that being kyoshiro..
i liked the manga more than the anime..im hoping the manga wont end like the anime cuz the ending kind of..um..a bummer..

I think Kyoshiro won because he learned the (bad spelling) mumyo jinpu ryu's advanced tech first before Kyo learned it from Muramasa.

No, the anime is going to epic failure path since the beginning because they chose to diverge the plot from manga, so might just end it quickly before it going to make further crap.

In the manga, it showed that Kyo pwn'ed Kyoshiro b/f proceeding to the "final enemy". Basically proved that the "Demon Eyes Kyo" is clearly stronger than Kyoshiro.

act, i've finished reading the manga, it is indeed a very good story. Kyo is pureblooded Mibu, while kyoshiro is actually only the creation of the Mibu clan, made from the blood of the Red King itself as one of the his best men,

thats why in the end of the story, when kyo got his original body back,he is very strong and able to defeat the Red King. unlike kyoshiro, who just able to help him.

so i ges kyo is the best after all, hahaha,
well, i'm posting this cos thre r so many kyoshiro's fan here and couldnt stand it.

LOL but many agree, Kyo was over abused in the series, making his cool factor ware down.

Since he was always active in Kyoshiro it dulled him down & boosted Kyoshiro fan base mostly because he's gone for a huuuge portion of it & he had a calmer persona.

If Kyoshiro switcned personalitiesto DE Kyo only at critical times & suspensful moments & encounters I'd love Samurai Deeper Kyo more but

it overabused a cool character IMHO.

ive only read 2/3 of the first volume while sitting in a barnes and noble...but i fell in love with it...i wont start watching the anime until i can start at the beginning...i'd watch it online but seeing as i have a dial-up connection i dont have the patience to wait for the long loading... :'(

I would treat the manga and anime separate. The anime diverges from the manga significantly. some characters do not appear at all, some are in for cameos...and there is a definite end to the manga....

I love SDK, I'm on pins and needles every month waiting for it to be released. A friend from a different board got me hooked on it.

I do agree that the anime is crap but watching it made me want to read the manga more when I was told it was completely different. I really wish they would come out with a new anime for it but have it follow the manga more closely. I also want new animators, I didn't think the art in the anime was all that great, looked rushed.

I think it is because he have the true mibu blood as well. without the true mibu blood, the attack is impossible to use. Beside kyoshiro's body can use the final wind but it did not have shape. Remember Kyo in Kyoshiro use the attack aginist kyoshiro in kyo body
