Hunter X Hunter finished or given up?

Does anybody know why the Story ended abruptly at chapter 260? i searched for information about it but i didn't find any reason.

HXH was put on "Permanent Hiatus" as the mangaka, Togashi Yoshihiro take a sick leave for a long time, and will continue the manga whenever he can draw it.

(BTW, this should be put on other manga thread, as HXH is available on the main website. Guess another job for the Admins...)

It doesn't seem like it is ever going to get going again though unless that happens.

Well i stopped reading it after he started talking about the chimera ant crap. It was so stupid that I hadta stop. I think he just gave up on it cuz he couldn't figure out how to end it.

i don't think so that anime had potential and there are thousand of ways he could have progress and ended the story line (he didn't even get to the climax...)

why well from starters hisoka was undefeated and the spiders were coming back with that guy's ability to suck things from within (so then they could save their leader), and to finish it off he still doesn't have a clue of where his dad is.

togashi took vacation TOO seriously.. he need to come backfor the sake of the fans.. at least, and if togashi is dead just leave it to her wife.. she can draw manga 2 wat..but it look like sailormoon then.about ending.. togashi is sure damn sucker if he just ended it.. it will be like yuyu hakusho.. in other word suddenly ended without ENDING I MEAN.ops too long..

that sucks ending without proper ending and also about his wife she should do it she is a manga artist and she should know the expectation of the fans waiting for update for their favorite manga she should at least do it for fan sake :cool:

I really love this series. I think that Gon and Killua's friendship is really sweet, and when the mangaka continues drawing, I hope that they don't have to part. T.T

I never read the manga but I loved the anime (points to killua avatar). I liked it so much I restrained myself from reading whats next, given the plot was unfinished. Now my patience will pay off! Just a couple more years and the next anime season will air! :D
