Discuss the manga Sensual Phrase here
By the way, I like what everyone has done with the new Sub Fourms. It makes finding this thread much easier and faster than it used to be. Thank You, to everyone who had a hand in making these improvements!!
Well, I don't think that Sakuya has a problem with trusting his band crew members, but rather he has a problem with Aine and Asturo keeping secrets from him. Aine is supposed to be Sakuya's true lover, but yet she is still keeping secrets from him. Sakuya must be wondering what is going on between Asturo and Aine, since the matter that is secret between them can't be spoken between other band members.

I think Aine should just tell Sakuya that it's a secret about Asturo's love life with another woman, and he only wanted to vent to her about it. Aine (most of the time) has the right mindset, just doesn't know how to go about it properly.
I can understand Sakuya's frustration with her, because she isn't giving any sign that it's a not a secret about an affair between her and Asturo.
Have you read all 18 Volumes of Sensual Phrase or are you going off of what One Manga has posted up?
Yeah, I agree that Aine usually does have a correct mind set about situations, but just doesn't know how to deal with certain situations properly. But I do think that Atsuro should be a little more open about his relationship with his older step sister, Yuuka. Who cares if you are related by law? I don't see a reason as to why it should matter if you are related by law or by blood? If a person likes another person enough, then they should be prepared for the consequences that lay ahead of them.
If Atsuro wants to date Yuuka, then he must first gain the courage to tell the other band members about his relationship with her. A band that has members that keep secrets from other band members, will only form distrust between the band members and other crew members.

True that, home slice. Trust should be the center of every group of friends... or band. And I've only read the 58 chapters on OM. Where can I read all of it?
I haven't seen any other places on the web that still have all the chapters of Sensual Phrase. Although, this is just to make sure that everyone supports the mangaka by buying their graphic novels when they come out. It is a bit strange that some series have been released for quite a while, but some websites can't find the manga or anyone that would scan the pictures for them. Although I can understand the reasons as to why such things happen in the first place.
I got the scans for the next chapter if anyone else is interested in it. Just private message me with your email address and I send it out as soon as I am able to.

I know that this is completely off topic to what you guys are talking about, but I just wanted to say:
Am I the only one who didn't know that there is also an anime for Kaikan Phrase !?
Where have I been? lol
I was seriously so surprised when I found out just a few minutes ago.
I was randomly going through google when I saw a link to Kaikan Phrase episode 1 [1/3].
I swear my mouth dropped x______x lol
The manga wasn't listed in the 'anime' category, so I never knew. They really should include it in there >__<
Yeah, I know what you mean. Good Luck on finding some decent quality of Kaikan Phrase because when I downloaded the anime series, the quality for some of the episodes were alright for the most part, but the rest of it was presented in a really poor quality. I have to say that the anime is a bit different from the manga, since the manga is really towards adults and making a animated version just like the manga would make the show rated as "Hentai."
Things to expect from the anime, Kaikan Phrase:
The animated series mainly deals with the making of the band, the battle with Ralph Grazer, formation and directing of E.MU, and the actress Sayako.

*sigh* Ahh yes. The anime can't always be exactly like the manga; and all the episodes I've seen of it are in a really bad quality. But I am still going to watch them nonetheless :]

Ahh spoiler tags please! Well, now I know they find out about Atsuro. >_> I guess I'll actually go read the new chapters~
Don't worry all that much about it. Another part of the story is introduced at the end of Chapter 60. And this side story seems to be more interesting than Asturo dating his older step sister.

Thoughts about Atsuro's and Yuuka's Relationship:
At first, I thought that their relationship wasn't all that odd. I thought that the problem that Yuuka was worrying over had something to do with the family not wanting Atsuro to do something with Lucifer, but I didn't really consider the fact that Atsuro and Yuuka were actually dating. I didn't really see the big deal with keeping that fact a secret from the rest of the group, since Yuuka has been with Lucifer since the beginning. Although Atsuro and Yuuka weren't blood related by birth, I do understand as to why their was a problem with not telling anyone that they were in love. But man I wonder how tough it must be to have that type of relationship with someone who is family by law?
I believe that Atsuro handled the situation pretty well, but not having all that much faith in your own teammates must really hurt you and others caught in the web of lies that you have created. The importance of trusting in your teammates is something that I am glad that Atsuro and everyone else learned from this incident. Without trust, how can a band make the best music possible?
Thoughts on Chapter 60:
I wonder what Aine's old relationship was with that guy named, Kiminobu. He says that he is Aine's ex-boyfriend, but I don't really know whether or not I should actually believe that his story is completely true or not. I always thought that Aine hadn't really gone out with anyone else seriously, like she does with Sakuya. Is it possible that Aine had a crush on that guy just before she ran into Sakuya, back at the beginning of the series. Perhaps, Aine really did go out with that guy in the past, but the relationship between the 2 didn't work properly.
Anyways, Kiminobu looks to be a confident man like Sakuya is. He might be Sakuya's rival in love with Aine. Then again, everyone in this book seems to be trying to get in love with Aine. I am just wondering what is going to happen after this encounter with Aine's ex-boyfriend, Kiminobu? Will he try to take Aine back, now that he sees that she has gained popularity as Sakuya's girlfriend?

I kind of like that Kiminobu guy. He's cocky like Sakuya (like Aine said), and his relationship with Aine is still a mystery. I'm trying to remember if she was still a virgin when she met Sakuya, cause that'd make it even juicer if she wasn't. :devil:
Aine was a virgin when she met Sakuya because at the beginning of the series Sakuya was the one that taught her about sex. It was because Aine was a virgin, that she was able to write such dirty (sensual) lyrics in the first place.

Oh right, and then the whole losing virginity thing happened. Well then, it would be possible for Aine to have given other first things to Kiminobu, like a first kiss and such. And knowing Sakuya he'll be jealous over that little of a thing.
Sakuya might be a little jealous at first, but I don't really think that he will be all that jealous later on because when you consider the fact that Aine hasn't even mentioned his name before, that could show how much he really meant to Aine in the past. Aine has only been focused on Sakuya until now, so I don't really think that she would be all that focused on a boy from the past. It kind of makes me wonder if he wants to have Aine back because of what experiences Aine has gone through with Sakuya and Lucifer?
Oh wel, got to wait for the next chapter.

The manga is better than the anime... well only if you like smut a lot... without the smut the manga is still better... It is addicting and fantastic... you will love the manga if you read it...

Just like, Nightchild, has already said, the manga contains a huge amount of sexual content and isn't really for people who aren't somewhat mature about it. The anime and the manga are completely different, like most anime and manga relation.
The anime started out with everyone in a different band, but the manga starts at the moment when Lucifer is already a highly successful band. Their are a lot more intense relationships throughout the series, then the anime ever mentioned. And more bands that weren't introduced at all in the anime, as well.
Overall, the anime started out in a different sense and down played everything from the original content it was in. Had the animation crew kept to the actually content the manga has, they wouldn't have been able to pass the censor board no matter how hard they would have tried.
Would I recommend that you read this series?
Yes, I would recommend that you to read this series. You will definitely notice the huge changes in the story to the anime without even completing the first book.

Well, the next Chapter of Sensual Phrase is up on the OneManga website now. I got to say that I had a feeling that Aine and that guy never did hit it off right from the start. Although, I did like the fact that Sakuya stated that the current version of Aine is all due to his work with her. And the whole Aine being that rich jerk fiancee is something I would expect from Aine's character, seeing that she is supposed to be the overly trusting character in the series. Although, I did like the fact that Sakuya joined in on the game at the end.
I wonder how everything is going to go down when it does. Can Aine actually pull something of this magnitude off in time or will she screw up before everything is over?

Well, it isn't just about being a dunderhead, but rather it has to do with the fact that high social families tend to act differently from some of the lower class families. Judging from the way Kiminobu, acts I would think that his family must be pretty refined and expects Aine to be some sort of high class lady that is just as refined, as well. If Aine doesn't do well to impress the family during this dinner then they will find out that everything Kiminobu is doing is nothing more than a lie.
But as we have said before, as long as Sakuya is their to save Aine, then we don't really have to worry about everything all that much. But Aine will have to speak at the dinner and if Sakuya always answers for her, then Kiminobu family will become very suspicious at everything, and they might actually start checking some of the information that Kiminobu has given them about Aine. And should they find out that Aine is only acting for Kiminobu as a deal, that situation would be a sight to see, huh?

this manga sounds erotic
It is really erotic, but deals with relationship issues as a high school girl unexpectedly meets an ultra hot and famous rock star, Sakuya. Who belongs to the hit rock band, Lucifer. And the story plays along as the band members try to make their life as rock stars and loving couples, work out well.
This explanation may sound horrible, but at least give it a try first.

Well... I really, REALLY like this manga, but does anyone else feel like Sakuya goes too far in trying to teach people lessons? The whole thing with that guy-ish girl (I completely forgot her name) really bothered me. Poor Aine... it upsets me, but I still can't help but love this manga. *sob* I think I need a hug...

yeah.. if u notice almost all of shinjo mayu's work are abit perverted.. not to that kind of extreme hentai type, but still can turn you on easily. and she always love to have chauvinist characters in her manga.. Even though they are deeply in love with the female character, they always like to "Bully" her and make her to forget everything except him.. and they always protect the girls they like in their own ways and only gentle toward their girls.. ^^
maybe that is so called " The Prince in the Black Horse"..

I actually like the fact that someone can turn you on like this, with only drawing a story. And not even showing you anything special (I actually don't like hentai, it's just too much so I find it funny).

Sayuka is just a yerk,yes his childhood was hell,but he dosn't think about the situation/feelings of other people.
Aine is an angel and Sayuka a demon...how shallow and cheap.
I like shoujo,I like smut and at first I did read Sensual P. but after I read always the same story (every man want to seduce Aine,Sayuka rescued her) I couldn't read the manga any further,it just to dumb (for me).

i read on wikipedia that there are 5 novels of the series that came out between 1999-2003 that the creator released and she did the pictures on the book too.the titles are -90-nichi no Densetsu- Hong Kong Kyoushikyoku- Ao no Meikyu- Owarinaki Shinwa- and Engage Song- plus she did a haou airen one caled Kuro no Jyokyoku- .i seach all the web to download them but ican find a free or a website to download them .can you help me?i will be gratefull. thank you.

I love this manga. I went out and ordered the complete series cause I couldn't wait for the scanlators. The next chaptors are sad but the ending is very pleasant.

I have the entire series as well. It was a pretty good series over all. The same concept is repeated most of the time, but I don't really mind it too much. As long as I am happy for the moment in time that I decided to read this series, then I am happy with everything else.

Yes Chp 74 is by far the saddest chp in the series. Shinjo really likes rape it appears... Every story I have read of hers has rape in it as way of controlling or torturing the main character.
Fortunately of all her series this one is the one that seems to get it the closest to the real thing. Aine is behaving as if she really got raped, not like the other characters in her stories that seamed to fall in love with the guy[mistaking lust and revulsion as love].
I hope thing work out for her in the end.

Actually, that's pretty much like most Shoujo manga I've read. I've read exactly 62 over the past 5 months, just to kill time... shocks me, as a male, but I'm used to it.

Well, it isn't like you knew that you were missing a chapter in the first place. So it wouldn't be uncommon for a person to think that they are reading the manga normally, before they realize that quite a few things seem a little out of place.
so i was kinda excited when i stumbled across the fact that this series was made into an anime, but when i watched it was really disappointed. the anime, to me, just wasn't all that good. i mean hell, half of the episodes didn't even have Aine in them...and the ones that did, just weren't the same. figures lol.

To be honest, I was excited at first when I first heard that this series was made into an anime, but after watching the 1st episode, I knew that the series wasn't going to go the same way the manga did. Their was just to many sexual references in the actual manga series, that wouldn't have been allowed in the animated version of the series.
The 1 thing that I didn't like in the animated series, was the fact that Aine always appeared weak. Aine didn't seem to have grown all that much by the end of the animated series, which was a darn shame because I though that was something great about her character in the series, "Sensual Phrase."
My favorite animated episode had to be episode 43 when Sakuya finally learns the truth about everything and what had happened to Aine. And what he did about the situation with Aine.

Anyone else besides me distraught about Takayama's death. OMG, I wanted to cry! He was my favorite character. Aine, Sakuya, Santa, Towa, Yuki and Atsuro are cool and all, but Takayama was the bomb! I loved how he pretended to be gay (such a twist cause usually it's the other way around) but loved Aine. I love how Shinjo didn't make it too obvious but just enough for the reader to catch on. Ugh, he will be missed.
I don't think it upset me too much, but I was definitely surprised. I thought that when he woke up he would have pulled thru. But I wonder how that will affect the band because he worked so hard and did so much for them...not many people would give so much for others in the "music business" I think

I believe in Lucifer. I think that the death of Takayama is going to be a fresh new starting point for the band. Now, everyone in the band, including Sakuya, will have to realize what it means to truly want to sing. I don't believe everyone in the band had "truly" understood what was happening as the story unfolded.
It is like the saying goes, "You don't appreciate the full value of something (or someone) until you lose it (or that person)."

That is true. Before Takayama, Lucifer wasn't the best they could be, they were still kick ***, but not *** kick *** as possible and I think Takayama saw that. But What I want to know is, who's gonna be the new manager? And what's gonna happen to Takayama's sister (Sakura was it? :confused: ) Ah! the suspense!

today shoujo crusade updated the chapters of kaikan phrase ,they released the 2 side stories of vol 17 and the entire volume of vol 18 the final volume of the series .can someone upload the chapters here? and also the 2 side stories of volume 6 that are missing here?.it will be great.thanks. :thumbup:

Honestly, it can be a good manga every now and then...but it pretty much sucks in all. I mean, she's always getting raped, or taken advantage of. After the 500th time you'd think she'd learn a thing or two- and it never seems to bother her much either. At least start suspecting people, it's retarded. And she always RUNS. Just in general Aine's character is flawed and simply sucks. One little hurtful thing and she just turns and runs, even if she's in the same room with Sakuya. It's just stupid...
Other than all that, it's an ok Shoujo. But there are so many better ones out there.

I don't really know how many chapters there are in this series, seeing as the number of pages in a chapter can change depending on the scanlators for the series. Although, I do know that there are some other manga's regarding this series in the link posted by animefan1478, on Page 5 of this thread.

the website is up but its i japanese:http://www.cs.furyu.jp/kaikan/index.html all the characters are there in order :sakuya,yuki,atsurou,towa(he has short hair and a gray jacket),santa,takayama the manager,ralfh (sakuyas brother)tomoyuki(the guy who was in love with his sister from the group jesus),and aine(the drawing is not up yet).enjoy.
