Some fillers are made to get a break from the story as you said, or to add some life into a plot that felt like it was dragging for a bit. So many reasons for them so yeah. >.< Luckily Hiro Mashima doesn't make uber long fillers. ^^

Erza, Mist Gun, Luxus, and Mirajine (YES I am countin her.... although she isn't it anymore) all became S-Class cuz the guild master trusted them... and believed they were strong enough. AND all of the S-class's have they're own comedic flaw... Erza being just as bad as Natsu, Mist Gun being comically shy, and Luxus being pervy.... Although i have yet to see his real self..

Anyway I think that perhaps Luxus is Marakovs son. I base this suspicion of mine because he said that the old geezer should hurry up and die( spoiler from chapter 51).

Also someone said Natsu is weak. You must have skipped the chapter where he uses Ancient Magic to defeat Eligor. And if you remember they said Ancient Magic was lost and was one of the most powerful magics too, it is based on the casters emotions).

I would also like it if we get to see the other FT members doing their magic.

Possibly, actually it is quite possible, because they only mentioned those who were S-class, but sometimes there are those who have power, but don't have the rank good enough for them. Now, overall characters, thats a definate, since they haven't showed many other characters of Fairy Tail, unless they sit at the bar all day.

There is no chapter 52 because Kefi is taking too #$%^ long to release this chapter. I dont understand whats the deal over there but if mangahelpers start translating Fairy Tail too then they will beat Kefi in it.

Anyway right now Im having a mega war inside of me conserning reading 53 or waiting for 52 to be released. Thankfully the not skipping faction is winning for now.
