and its ranked poorly too

Berserk is awesome alright. It sucks that I have to look all over the place, the last chapter I've read was 294 and that was a while ago. Anyone know where to find any new chapters that aren't DDL? If their are none I'll take DDL but preferably not.

Yeah it's too bad the artist is being FRICKEN LAZY with the story. I swear if he would just cut down a little on the detail we could have already had Gatts and the rest of them at the Elf island and then headed back toward the battlefield by now. But nooooo apparently he finds himself playing on XBox 360 all day. His policy is SCREW the fans, who cares if they've been reading it for TWO WHOLE DECADES!!!!

Yeah, even though I just started 4 months ago, I'm still a little bitter.

Just got caught up with latest chapters and this series is awesome! Guts is probably the most badass protagonist I've ever seen and Griffith seems like the perfect antagonist for him can't wait for the next chapter!

Oy , Been looking everywhere for this thread.

Yet I feel uneasy that there is only 3 pages about a great manga like Berserk , it has everything you want and don't .

Especially I think it's kinda great how you get to see the plague . And how people psihologically react to it.

Also the way Griffith handles the whole sitiuation as a bringer a peace and a savior of all , kinda makes you ponder , isn't it somewhat from the bible , A man that is charming and everyone belives is the Anti-Christ.

I agree though. The tale overall is indeed epic and I never saw Griffith having his own kingdom coming. That was indeed a great twist. I wonder how hard it's gonna be for Guts to get Casca to Fairy Island. I get the feeling that when they get there, things won't be what they seem...if they get there. I highly doubt Guts can beat Griffith now.

The funny thing is I can't really see human Griffith or his forces as evil for some reason. Granted him raping Casca made me hate him in his god form.It's like I hate him in one form and not another. It'll be interesting to see how Miura continues it.

Guts is an amazing swordsman and I think he will gain the power to kill Griffith when he gets to Fairy Island. I think he'll get some new power up from the fairies or he might be able to further develop his demonic powers along with the little witch (forgot her name). Griffith right now looks like he won but I know he'll lose, I know it! ;_;

lol In all seriousness, Griffith just about has everything he wished for, what more can he want?

I read it last summer for almost a week straight , hours at a time.
(Though to be honest at times , I had to switch to other more light hearted mangas to spell the mood , cause it it really such a dark comic and at times very very intense as well.)

Guts is truly a hero of epic proportions, soldering on when everything a round him is literally going to hell in a hand basket.I always have a a lot of admiration mixed with I will add a lot of pity for the guy, who sacrificed and is sacrificing so much to achieve his goals.

Griffiths kingdom will crumble , at the end of the day , he is a Demon.No way he can hold it all together.

As for casca ,ya know , if there was ever a victim here , it is her.really really sad. I hope she walks happily into the sunset with our hero. nuff said

There was an old rumor saying he was, but in all retrospect, it seems that Berserk has really started picking up its pace again after all the huge two-page-spread chapters with no plot and all nice art. I think 2010 will be a good year for Berserk.

The game is called Idolmaster actually, but the thing about Miura being addicted to videogames and suffering from a lolita complex, was nothing more than an "Internet meme"(so to speak).
People(like me) were just looking for an excuse to explain his numerous hiatuses. :D
Although, he did gave an interview in the past where he said something like "I recently bought a Xbox along with Idolmaster and am lovin' it".

Yeah I guess Griffith obtaining his kingdom, the astral and the real world merging and the God Hands being finally free can't be considered strong plot elements...

This was the biggest plot turning-point of the whole serie btw in case you were just looking at the art...

I wouldn't say its the biggest plot turn, because all of this is expected. If you remember, in the anime (it happened in the manga as well) Where the guy in the bar, speaks of how bad things have been since Griffith became King..

This whole story has kind of been like a prologue.. Also, if you remember in the manga, where Guts ends up running into Griffith (Femto) and tries to blow him up, but his bullets or whatever doesn't even touch Griffith..

And Puck ends up saying "What happened between them???" And Guts is about to cry..

So yeah, all of this is expected. It's more of a.. About freakin' time.

Yeah I admit it's not a turning-plot point but more likely the BIGGEST thing that we've been expecting since ages, Griffith finally achieveing his dream.

I was just more terrified by the God Hand's appeareance and the last chapter was wonderful, Guts back in action using the same signature move he used back with Rosine!

You failed to see my point. What I meant was that all those chapters showing "Griffith achieving his dream", as you put it, might have been crucial to the story itself, but they could have been done in much a much smaller amount of chapters. While it was important, Miura made such a big deal out of it that it made the whole story seem draggy IMO.
I'm just glad that it's over with and it also seems that the releases are getting faster. Can't wait to see... what's in the cave. Lulz.

I like the thread here better since it's easy to look for and discussions are starting to build up, unlike the other one. But if you can merge the other thread here, that would be great.

Let's just hope nothing bad happens to him, he's still in his early forties. Besides, I think he already cooked up the ending like most mangakas do with their manga.

It's not a prototype, that specific scene, that he was talking about, is actually part of the main plot, and I'm pretty sure about that, because It was just before the start of the Golden Age arc, which is my favorite arc so far. :)
There's an actual Berserk's Prototype, but that's a completely different thing...

Weren't you trying to imply in the first place, that these specific scenes were some kind of a prototype for Berserk?
If you weren't, then I'm sorry, I simply misunderstood you.

you don't get it that is all prototype manga(or better expression would be pilot version) and it is named black swordsman(like the name of the arc that goes after golden age-Black Swordsman/Conviction Arcs-) the link i gave you is just start of it
golden age is first arc of story ,berserk started with guts birth and we are still watching where the story goes
prototype manga is what you have to show to publishers,editors etc(or who decide should something be published)and if it pass the story start,i hope you understand this.

I'd agree with the word "pilot" 'cause that actually makes perfect sense, but it's not a prototype at all. The true prototype has Guts wearing an eye-patch.
Furthermore, and as you said yourself, Golden Age is chronologically the first major arc of the story, because it is essentially a huge piece of backstory, but, in reality, it's the second.
Anyway, you told me to check wiki and I did it:

It would be a nice change for once if Isma was a nice God. My first impression of her looks more like she's really lonely and craves for stories from the outside world.

Or maybe she isn't the Sea God of the cave but something completely different, maybe she's some kind of water spirit. I mean, it wasn't stated that she is the reason for the aura Schierke felt - it could very well be that her aura is huge, but not aggressive.

For now I'm more worried about the others that stay at this Inn - the other guests look too much like the undead pirates for it being a mere coincidence. And judging from Guts' reaction he does think something similar.

I think she'll join their party... because they don't have any water pokemon in the team yet. They have normal pokemon, fire pokemon, air pokemon, psychic pokemon, but no water pokemon.

Well, I just can't imagine Guts deliberately accepting one as an ally, especially considering the grudge he bears towards every single apostle to date.
Again, it's not impossible, just very unlikely, but I definitely would love to see her joining the "crew", Guts really needs a powerful ally like her, after all.

PS: I also would like to see her teasing Isidro a bit more. :P

Well, if she really is a God then I think she's stronger than your average apostle and therefor she could cause quite some trouble for the crew - most likely Guts would be rendered useless for quite some days again after they've beaten her.

But I still hope that she's on the 'right' side and doesn't start a fight with Guts - her joining would be cool, too, especially for Isidro who'd probably be in for some serious cat fights between Schierke and Isma regarding who'd be his guardian/watchdog/... :D

I don't know about it being on hiatus again, but since nobody mentioned it I guess (or rather, hope) the next chapter will be out sometime in the next couple weeks.

He knows the word defeat and its implications better than anyone else.
Personally, I believe he has began to realize his own physical limitations ever since he fought, Slan(it wasn't really a fight, I know), the "dragon guy", and Ganishka himself, based on the fact that he was completely overwhelmed at some point.
Regarding the hiatus, there's not a specific release date yet for the next chapter, so yeah, you could say that.

How was he supposed to attain power? Before he met the witch (oh whose existence he had no idea about) he was just as strong as he was when he got the dragon slayer.

I just recently got fully caught up on Berserk, and I saw people saying before how little progress on the story a chapter brings. I thought that was just B.S. but damn, I see why this series has been out so long. The author is dragging this out as long as possible, it reminds of how slow Bleach is.

best seinen and best shonnen manga ,it is more important how deep story is than how fast its progress just check naruto so shallow manga,bleach is good shonnen copy of berserk

Hmm, really Berserk barely has 312 chapters in over 20 years, this manga really moves slowly, I prefer the incredible pace that One Piece brings, if Berserk had the pace that OP has, now Berserk would've been finished...Only the writer of HunterxHunter is as lazy as Kentaro Miura...
