Well, it was aired on TV last year from what I heard.
But I've never watched it yet.

What do you think of the Manga?

The manga messed up Kyon pretty bad. Not only did they take away his rants and sarcasm, but they made him innocent! Im sorry, I dont know how interesting it would be to read this for the first time, but having watched the anime and the novel, I can safely say he was the heart of the plot. I cant help but feel dissapointed at the manga.

The novel hasn't concluded yet, and it can get really tedious. It does have its moments. I spent several nights reading it out of sheer curiosity. I dont recommend it if you are a light reader like myself.

I think the author was already thinking about the anime when he wrote it... Hell, there are illustrations! I was expecting a regular, sci-fi novel. When I found out the plots were exactly the same I just had to know what happened next... big mistake.

I was only looking for some development on Haruhi's and Kyon's personalities. Hopefully the next season of the anime will show my favorite volume, which is the ONLY volume I really enjoyed reading from beggining to end... 1 out of 9... seriously, the anime is much easier to follow.

Ohh by the way, I hate Koizumi. Not for the same reasons Kyon hates him, but because he just wont stop talking! The guy just loves his own voice.

The anime IS better than the manga. :D

But I like the light novels, there's a sense of (more) completeness in them. And the illustrator for the manga is different from the light novels.

Noizo Ito - illustrator for light novels = one of the best! (also illustrated for the Shakugan no Shana light novels)

If I ever get to reading the manga or light novels, it appears - from what I've been hearing.reading. This one would be just like GTO to me.

In the sense that the anime is the best outlet for getting any enjoyment from the series. =/

But GTO's manga wasnt that bad... Whenever I turned a page and saw Onidzuka's pissed off face, I couldnt help but laugh and get all excited! The anime didnt have that effect on me, although the music was fitting.

I cant say if this manga is good or bad, its just bleak in comparison with the anime or the light novels.

I guess it's because I've watched the anime before ever touching the manga - even though the friend that introduce to the series had both. =/

Oh well, maybe I'll due the manga some justice sometime soon, until then I can't stand the art. ^_^

Since it got licensed, Suzumiya Haruhi´s Melancholy was taken out of several websites that had the anime online. You are gonna have to download it from a torrent like the rest of us...

Except me hehe... I watched it before disaster struck. Altho the dubbed version of it should be halfway done and uploaded in all those popular online video sites. Its kind of refreshing since the people in this anime like to talk a lot and its hard to follow what they say in subtitles.

I like the anime but the manga gives a different impression of kyon..he became innocent whatever..i like itsuki koizumi in the anime though..he looks hott..but i don't like his seiyuu that much..

I think the anime's name is melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi or is there an anime for this also though like the anime I haven't read about the manga because it looks like its not finished yet

Mangas are way different than books. To read the whole thing is like going through all of the Harry Potter books one after another in the same night, you will slowly sart skipping sentences subcontiously and miss important details. Take a break between volumes!

I think it would be the best way to go, to read the light novels before watching the anime. Many details and dialogues are omitted in the anime that wouldve explained character's reactions a lot better. But there is also a big load of filler in the novels that I am thankful the anime didnt use ¬¬

Its tough to like Haruhi with all the sexual harrasment she pulls off. I really gotta know who raised her! Not sure if to praise them or scold them, tho.

thats the reason I pick the manga like the drawing hate reading stuff without pic thats the reason harry potter kills me when I was reading it its to boring without some pictures

The light novels do have illustrations. But just 2-3 per chapter and several colored ones per volume. I dont think its for light readers at all, its a completly different experience.

But curiosity always brings the best of me.

The novels are great! the illustrations are always in your head with the excellent descriptions :D
